I signed up with Afrihost (200/200) but have never had any internet despite them already billing me for the month (since 13 July).

On the support tickets one agent says I should choose PPPoE and enter a username and password. The next agent says choose Dynamic IP. Still no internet. I also notice that the support tickets are closed without resolving the issue. Not too sure what to do next.

Thanks. Will give that a try.

I am on Route Networks (I think they have exclusive rights to provide the fibre in the complex)

Hi,

Sorry for the issues experienced.

We are aware of an issue on Route Networks with the Heritage park OLT that is not able to do DHCP correctly. We receive DHCP offers from clients and send a lease but the responses are going missing so client's router are stuck continuously asking for a DHCP lease.

We are working with Route Networks on the issue.

Vumatel in East London is poked. That's after a 4 minute power cycle of my ONT and router.

Thanks a lot for the assistance. Your settings resolved my issues and now I am connected.

Is this still an issue? I'm still getting packet loss and ping spikes, impossible for gaming :(
