Afrihost Slow Uncapped

What this is not on and why the phoney replies todate. I am sure I have not even reached 60gb. Where can you check?

60 gigs is 2 gigs a day. More than enough considering we are only paying R197.

I personally like the idea that it stays very fast till 60 gigs, and only after that starts degrading. It means 99% of users will always experience great speeds.

what the hell?

If that is the throttling they apply, it essentially renders the account unusable

R197?
The same limits apply for the 4Mbps accounts too

Agreed but if I knew that upfront I would not have gone all be*** in those 3 days :).

good luck with that. i know of some people who have not yet exceeded 60 gigs and are also getting slow speeds.

I seem to remember afrihost saying the soft cap limit would be "hundreds of gigs"...

Sorry but I want my 200GB - I knew nothing of this throttling 60GB limit...on my 4MB line...otherwise I could have just settled for the 384kb option.

It's a 60 gig grace period. The alternative is they start degrading the service from the first byte.

..and even with shaping, you will probably still be able to pull 100's of gigs.

OK checked and have done 65GB but I will not accept any form of throttling I need my speed that was advertised!

My 4mbit uncapped line is going at a snail's pace ... speedtest.net gave me a result of 0.9Mbps...Even youtube stutters more than it would on my previous 384kb line. Something's not right today. :|

Well, back to my Axxess ADSL Express account where I can do 200-350gb without anyone fracking up my service. Uncapped has not arrived and ISPs need to disclose their limits _before_ we pay them :(

Unless you literally move hundreds of GBs per month this service will be uncapped for you with no catches for you

Super slow here in CT. Local seems a lot quicker. Surely it must be a network problem and not this 60gig limit, although I have done 81gigs this month. Surely AH realise that everyone will duck to mweb, axxess, etc with a 60gig limit?
