Afrihost Support

Afrihost do not have 24/7 support as stated on their web site. I submitted a ticket at about 8PM Saturday night and the last response I got from the support staff was at 22:27, nothing after that, I mailed them but no response even if the server is still down they do not give a *****.

Currently having the same issue. Our website and email server have been down since lastnight and countless attempts to get any form of feedback have proved impossible, they just don't care!

Should have checked HelloPeter before hosting with them - 189 Positive versus 428 Negative. And to think their support page banner shows "We're here to be of excellent service to you"

Pathetic Service!!!

Any recommendations for a better hosting company?

Same boat.... also only discovered it later on. Teach you a lesson in the future not to look at fancy pictures and writing on a website..... do you homework first.

I'm really sorry that you've had such a poor response. It sounds like the issue may have been escalated to a 2nd level server admin, but this can take longer as obviously specialised admins take more time to deal with specialised queries.

I know that we have grown, and the rate was a surprise to us as well. We've been training and deploying new support staff, and many of them are just now starting to settle in. I believe we'll get back to our excellent service levels and response times very soon

Change to Hetzner, they are the only "Big" Hosting/Server Supplier in SA that actually have true 24 Hour support and techs and admins who actually know what they are doing.
They are very good at answering their phone at any time of the day, they give proper feedback on support tickets within a very short time. They work with you until your problem is resolved and don't leave you wondering if some mysterious "SKIM" admin is actually doing something.
On top of that their pricing is far better (Unbeatable) than any other "Big" player in SA and the bang you get for your buck is awesome.

Change to Hetzner, they are the only "Big" Hosting/Server Supplier in SA that actually have true 24 Hour support and techs and admins who actually know what they are doing.

Unfortunately, hetzner they don't cater for Windows packages.

My company has been plagued with Afrihost issues in the past 7 months. Its not getting better. Suggest maybe sticking to Afrihost for bandwidth but these days their hosting support and delivery has not been good at all.

I would love to and in the past i always have, but today i can refer anyone to Afrihost for hosting services. That is sad because like many I have referred dozens of companies and friends to them and now i am starting to regret it as these clients call me to to tell me they are also having difficulties.

Afrihost used to be royalty but now it appears as though they are downgrading to Jabba the Hutt status.
