Afrihost uncapped ADSL 10Mbs (MTN)

The Business ADSL costs more, but appears to give no better service. Today:

Local - Cape Town
Download Speed: 4342 kbps (542.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 418 kbps (52.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 32 ms

I reported the slow speeds to Afrihost - they said that my line was being synced to 5Mbps (I've no idea why). They've resynced to 10Mbps and the results are a lot better:

That is great to see!

Your ADSL line sync should remain stable at the profile it is currently set to, however, the sync can be changed or updated for a few reasons.

The Fix My Line function in the Clientzone will often switch the line to a number of profiles looking for a profile that balances performance and stability using SNR and attenuation. Running the Fix My Line function again should restore the line back to the original speed profile.
