Afriguy, as for your comments earlier about streaming being lighter on the network somehow. YouTube streams via HTTP...

So we pray demand go down otherwise "we will still be giving you the best possible experience" hahahaI think you mis-read my post. Under the circumstances, in terms of heavier demand and shaping - we believe we're providing the best possible experience.

Same old story.
"We are working on it"
"Engineers are looking into it"
-> Simple. The problem is insufficient IPC capacity to support your clientbase.
I agree, yay money for ah as everyone goes onto business packages, or let's wait and see if these guy will accept our throt...er shaping or let's wait till the abusers from mweb decide they had enough and leave
guys maybe mtn said they can't have more pipe, maybe they need to go back to is or just maybe they need to get bandwidth from mweb, they are teir 1 aren't they, I would find it so funny if they say they resolved the broblem by getting more pipe from i, more funny is mweb and I swear if they say said I would cancel as Ajax I believe only has buy by the GB not Gb
huh?
I love how the client zone says there is no shaping being applied to my line... Netflix at sub 100 Kbps on a 2 meg line...
Badly typed I am on a phone, sorry, to what I understand the only tier ones are Mweb, IS, Saix or 3g providers like voda or mtn, they all need to buy ipc, deacon and sacs at the demand of their customers, home and wholesalers (like ah and openweb) of the wholesaler needs more they go to the teir ones and negotiate the best package for their need, they may take a long time to secure more capacity as the teir one need to organise and upgrade first not to mention all the red tape, that's why i think I will go back to a teir one and stick to them, mweb or tellin hmmm not so. Tough a decision mweb it is
Oh yeah right I get it.
Mweb was a great ISP for me until they started throttling. I didn't mind the shaping during business hours and gaming was always good.
So far Afrihost has been a bit disappointing (jumped over to them as these problems started).
We do understand, even if it doesn't seem like it.
Our team is doing everything they can to work this out, however we still believe that everyone is getting the best possible experience under the circumstances.
Streaming doesn't always equal YouTubeAnd your other realtime services are still able to be used.

"I think you mis-read our posts. Under the circumstances, in terms of constant demand and shaping - we believe we're not being provided the best possible experience." HOW does reading this feel Afri*?I think you mis-read my post. Under the circumstances, in terms of heavier demand and shaping - we believe we're providing the best possible experience.
Afriguy, Your best possible experience isn't good enough right now, that's the plain harsh truth. I will give you guys time to fix as I still believe in Afrihost and Will decide by end November whether to continue my service with you or not.
Something really strange last night. Scheduled my downloads from 11:00. I could see shaping relax on my line, but the whole night my 8 meg line was running on at 100kb/s for torrents. Only resetting my router this morning actually gave me full download speed on my torrents again. Modem was syncing at 8 meg as well before restarting. I saw another poster have the same happen on his 2 meg line earlier as well. Really hoping this is not a sign that something bigger is starting to go wrong.
