Just a heads up that there is a major Telkom outage in the Greater Pretoria area at the moment.
We're seeing many clients with no service while this is being resolved.

Possible link to last night's problems?
Speaking from personal experience I've seen speeds vary on sync rates by up to 100Kbps. But that much sounds like a bit of funkyness on the line.
It's all up to the maximum possible sync between the distribution point, your line and the exchange. Some guys will sync at 10008, other at the full 10240 etc.
So do people actually sync at 10240?? Ive never seen a single person above 10015? (I thought that was SA's max)
We are definitely seeing pretty much everyone being unshaped in the South. If you're still shaped, then we need to check your account ASAP.

Afriman/Afriguy - Is there still heavy shaping being applied in the East (Durban to be specific)? I've been on 18.8% download and 6.25% p2p for the past few weeks now...

No there shouldn't be any heavy shaping going on. East should be running well at the moment unless there is a spike of heavy usage going on. Afriman or Afriguy will need to assist you and troubleshoot your account
