Hey Guys
Just a heads up that there is a major Telkom outage in the Greater Pretoria area at the moment.
We're seeing many clients with no service while this is being resolved.
Will update you as we get info![]()
Just a random question, why is it that in South Africa 10Mbps is 10015Kbps instead of 10240Kbps?

Speaking from personal experience I've seen speeds vary on sync rates by up to 100Kbps. But that much sounds like a bit of funkyness on the line.
We are definitely seeing pretty much everyone being unshaped in the South. If you're still shaped, then we need to check your account ASAP.

No ping connectivity at the moment. Tracert dies at the first hop. If I go onto telkom guest account it works fine, so it is not the line or exchange.
Hey guys
AfriMan has had to duck outta the office for a while. For these shaping queries - drop me a PM and I'll follow up for you![]()
PM's sent to AfriMan and AfriGuy.
Time wasted testing 30 mins, to tracert, change router login, reboot router, tracert, change login, reboot router, tracert.
Sent again let me know if you got it?
Afriman/Afriguy - Is there still heavy shaping being applied in the East (Durban to be specific)? I've been on 18.8% download and 6.25% p2p for the past few weeks now...

We're seeing pretty normal speeds on our tests this side. Is there any shaping at the times that you're testing?
