Download speed has been terrible today. Like 5-10KBps :wtf:
Could you DM me your details so I can take a look at this for you?
Would like to see where the slow speeds are coming in.

No I know that the shaping is dynamic. What I am saying is that there should be a pattern which can be observed for over a week .that sets out "peak times" and a look at historical data should give this - the network might not be shaped at all during this time. In other words I leave my PC running if the network becomes congested I only know when I check on my PC in which case its a meh to adjust things after checking clientzone to see if it is indeed shaping is annoying, on the other hand if once a week I know that the times when I should tell uTorrent to not work and when my downloader should be scheduled to start - it is good for the common good, and as more distributed network use happens a case for capacity is easier (especially if people are also buying more data). At the moment shaping is a mandatory way of adjusting user behaviour voluntary tools are nicer - the question is how much effort building tools are relative to the number of people who will use them. No, up to Tuesday it was approx 09:00 to midnight! Yesterday, the shaping was lifted for some unknown reason. This is CT ofcourse now if you had a look in the client zone you would see whether shaping was applied or not. If you had a look in the client zone you would see whether (your app here) er............ did I repeat myself? Dueto shaping being dynamically applied it could change at any time............... Why do you want to know when shaping happened if it might be different next time?
Day #4, same story. :wtf:
How is afrihost's 10mb package? I need something with good latency. I do about 100gb odd max a month
Try running this in command prompt and posting the results here (believe me it helps!)

I already did that in the 2nd post in this thread....
but again..
<snip>
It's supposed to be a 2Mb line... ping is usually 10ms...
In your first post it looked like AH's problem because the latency to the exchange is fine, but in your last one it looks like more of an exchange problem to me because of how the latency shoots up once it's outside of your house.
Maybe doing tracerts at different times would shed some more light
They both look like exchange issues to me
xera, can you confirm you're running a separate modem and router? The first two hops are local IP's, while the 3rd is your exchange. Is anyone using the connection while running these traceroutes?
Hi Afriman
Had problems with our VoIP lines today.
Switchtel said it seemed like an ISP problem.
Any known issues in Durban today?
Reposting for lack of response
Also having issues on my Business account, no one seems to respond to posts on the forums, no activity from any rep since 08h15 (19/07/2013)? Now I am not at my office so I cannot do any tests again until this evening. Most frustrating!!
