Also having issues on my Business account, no one seems to respond to posts on the forums, no activity from any rep since 08h15 (19/07/2013)? Now I am not at my office so I cannot do any tests again until this evening. Most frustrating!!

They have live support on their site now, try that :) I'm busy talking to them now.

Pm sent
No prior discussion with Afriman but copied him on pm

The reason I suggest all three is because lately Afriman is dissapearing and the other 2 come and go ..........

Terrible ping after 17:00, Day #5

OK day number 5, and same story. Some time after 5pm, ping goes THROUGH THE ROOF. :wtf:

At 4pm, I was able to ping mybroadband.co.za and get a consistent ping of 10-12ms, which is usual. But not at this time.

Just to clarify, I am the ONLY person connected to this router, I am not downloading anything. Wifi is OFF.
Afrigirl, please help Afriman and get this !@#$ sorted out.

I'm having much the same. After about 19:00 until 22:00 or so, my ping is erratic and unusable for gaming. This is on two separate lines, one in Cape Town and one in Stellenbosch, both with Afrihost. Switching to FNB Connect sometimes helps, but not always. Have turned off all wireless and making sure my PC is the only one on the network and no other downloads or uploads happening.

Hey! You have some Nirv posting here. Lol, just joking. Looks like congestion on the exchange. I know for sure that Stellenbosch has congestion during peak hours, not sure about Cape Town.

Exactly. :wtf:

Please can someone unsticky this - because of its stickyness, it doesnt appear under recent posts :P

I agree that it looks like exchange congestion - I've been a victim before more than once in Stellenbosch - but others in the thread dealing with that are not having the same problems as me. Then there's also the problem that it's also occurring 60+km away in Cape Town. Afrihost is the ISP for both connections, and Telkom says there are no indications of congestion in Stellenbosch currently, so I don't know what gives.

Okay and now I'm seeing unusual usage patterns with my Afrihost capped account. This is a business account, neither of which are active this early on a Sunday yet close to 5gb's of traffic this morning already!!!! WTF??? Not to mention the 17gb yesterday!!

Internet is crawling down to unresponsiveness. Took me minutes just to open MyBB and this thread. Conducted a local speedtest: ping 533 ms, down 0.54 Mbps, up 0.11 Mbps. Makes me wonder why I pay for a 4 MB uncapped account. Also makes me wonder who messed up, Telkom or AH?

I'm on a 2mb uncapped account down in Durbanville...and my line is running perfect. No shaping, full speed - no hassles.

I really think there's general congestion in the Western Cape. Hopefully it gets acknowledged and and rectified soon, I don't think AH is to blame.
