Mweb and Afrihost are way ahead of all the other ISPs. I've been on Mweb before and their service is top notch (only issue is the throttling). I'm now on Aftihost and the service is just as good, if not better (and there is no throttling!).

After the recent upgrades by Telkom, Afrihost has become considerably more expensive than Telkom for a 2mb uncapped bundle? R364 vs R397.

Also, Telkom are offering stealth discounts of 25% for 'two-year contracts' on data which they don't advertise in writing.

They cannot say they match, let alone beat Telkom anymore.

The difference between R364 and R397 is not considerable?

I meant the difference is 'considerable' when Telkom's stealth 25% discount is included. Apologies.

I have a problem now, I can't stream on Twitch. Even "Mobile" is buffering. WTF

Is anyone else having issues with content from the Afrihost news server failing due to some blocks not found on server, etc?

When I mailed Afrihost I got a very Matric pass rate kind of reply. I am wondering if someone else is experiencing this issue and if we can debug it.

Essentially, some of the content I attempt to download (especially more recent content, i.e. 1 day old) fails, cannot be repaired, etc. Everything else works fine. See image below for error.

Sent you a PM. Much better something than NZB. Missing blocks a thing of the past. :D

Afriman I give up. Being shaped constantly is not the service I want.

Please can you move me to the 4meg/75gig capped account?

Just did a interesting test, my shaped 10mbps Axxess Account vs a Unshaped Afrihost account. No difference in streaming. Both buffers on some sites, especially those sites with links like sockshare and putlocker, which is expected since they are free streaming services and over congested. But hey still a R375 10mbps account vs a R395 4mbps account both shaped to the bone eventually, 6mbps gain on streaming and R20 saving will always win me over, especially if both are owned by the same company on the same backbone. :D

Was wondering why this was happening as I have the same problem. Glad it's not a connection issue.

PS: Thanks for the PM. :)
