So Shaped to ***** 17:30 on a Sunday afternoon.....I'm sorry I thought this was off peak. So apparently I'm confused and we're supposed to only use our lines for realtime services. Must have confused Afrihost with somebody who cares. This is beyond rediculous. I'm done. I'll happily pay double what I pay now somewhere else as a matter of principle. Really amazing to see that a company can go from the market leader to a mickey mouse outfit blabbing that everything is fine when it's obviously not.
So AfriGuy/Man/Gal. Last chance to keep a customer.....drop me a PM and please advise what you guys are going to do to keep a customer.....if we're still important in the least. Because paying 100% for 50% service is just not on I'm sorry.
How do you guys know you are being shapped? My torrents are flying at full line speed.
Be glad you still have internet. I've been without internet since midday Friday when latency went through the roof.
Still waiting for a Telkom technician, who was supposed to be here Friday, to come have a look.
Edit: Wonder what impact the Rage Expo is having on the network???
HTTP downloads being shaped to 20kb/s on a Sunday evening. Extremely frustrating. How much longer is this gonna carry on?
Where do you see how much you are being shaped? I cant find anything in clientzone.
@Afriguy I logged an incident with your support desk as my p2p traffic does not go higher that 63kb/s on my 1mb line regardless of the seeds etc. and I got told by one of your support guys (Ronny) that this is normal for the package I am on? I was on MWEB 1 week ago and was getting a clean 98kb/s can you please comment on this?
I had some very poor ping and download speeds on my xbox this weekend. It took me 12 hours to download the Return to Karkland DLC for Battlefield 3. It is around 2 gigs. And once I downloaded it, I kept on timing out when I tried to play online. And there is nothing wrong with my line. I can play CoD just fine on my PC. And I can max out my line speed with downloads. So I think some ports aren't getting priorities.
Otherwise, download speed were good this weekend.
Sorry to hear thisWas it just your Xbox that saw slow downloads or was everything being affected?
Just the xbox. I was getting good download speeds on my pc. I think either the microsoft servers are slow, but then the local Battlefield 3 servers were slow as well. My guess is that a port or 2 for the xbox aren't prioritised.
This may be related to shaping I'm afraidCould you PM me your info and I'll double check on things for you.
It's even when it says i am not being shaped, it has never exceeded 65kb/s
PM has been sent thanks !

Just as a test I just used my first Turboboost and am now getting a full 5.3 kb/s whats that about... Is my turbo broken![]()
Hi Afrihost, whats going on with international speeds?
http://www.speedtest.net/result/3017405216.png
PLEASE ADVISE!
Anything copied over your LAN won't count at all, we only count traffic running out of your router to the interwebz![]()
No general issues on our end
Could you post up a traceroute to an international site? Maybe we can see where the issues are being introduced.
