AfriGuy/Man/Girl: Does "100% realtime speed" mean the following protocols, as indicated on the AUP, run at full speed?

I don't think Axxess will ever come close to the experience you will receive at Afrihost, Afrihost is right at the top of the ISP rank even with such shaping they implemented to control demand. Its good to pay more for a product at Afrihost knowing that they working on continous improvements to there network to deliver a best experience to there clients and continue with the great support they offer. That's just my opinion :)

At these prices it will make up for it. Also don't worry you can stay and wait.

Yes that's the plan, my sister hasn't experienced any problems besides shaping but everyone is experiencing that ;) and i can see shaping is getting lesser. Im sure Afrihost will improve things soon, holding thumbs :)
 
@Afriguy, That's understandable... you just protecting your network and ensuring best efforts for everyone on the network as a whole . I get it and besides business accounts can get near almost zero shaping :) :P
 
Still wondering what form of bandwidth management was used on business accounts yesterday (during ipc failure) if it wasn't shaping,

As per website - *Please Note: Business DSL accounts are Guaranteed to be completely unshaped at all times.

Our Business accounts are never shaped :)
And you're right, we do need to shape the Home Uncapped accounts to keep our network running smoothly. This also allows us to run realtime services on a un-shaped level.

Business and Capped accounts weren't shaped during the outage yesterday, however we did run at reduced capacity for sometime so true performance couldn't be gained during the outage.

And I run my modem bridged, as having two NATs up is a waste. Also I like being able to just swap out my router and leave the modem as is. Makes it easier to upgrade to newer wireless tech in routers AC+ etc.

And for the topic of this discussion a router on it's own cannot connect to the internet. You connect through an ADSL modem. I don't have a dual device that incorporates a modem/router in one.

Seems Afrihost has determined there is some kind of disconnect with my dslam / exchange. Been handed over to the Telkom peeps to go take a look under the hood :D

For the torture we in CT had to endure yesterday, surely we can have one nice full unshaped day afriman. Even if you have to lend us Joburg's IPC to do it
 
Just a couple more days of MWEB left. When should I sign up for Afrihost so that it's up and running on the 1st? Just before midnight the day before?
