Obviously 3rd party DNS will affect the overall speed if you are being shaped or not. Now I don't know what falls under "realtime" but I can tell you that Netflix (with UnoDNS) for one is definitely affected by shaping. When it keeps buffering check client zone and you will see you are being shaped. Click the turbocharge button to overcome the shaping temporarily and it streams as expected.

We're still looking into this but under our test conditions streaming works perfectly. So we'd need to test under those conditions you're mentioning. Using external DNS may have an effect on how we shape possibly - but we really need more data to determine this. If that were the case though - we wouldn't have as many clients running Netflix or Hulu without any issues as we do

Can someone please comment on the speed one gets for Afrihost Business Uncapped 2mbps.
I am planning on moving from mweb premium now that they have blown their last chance to upgrade me to 4mbps for free.
already asked telkom to downgrade my line back to 2mbps. (saving money). And want to switch over to afrihost business.
is it any good?

going to cancel mweb tomorrow and I already have a 1gb free with afrihost. Going to login to my account and add the business uncapped at the end of my 30 days notice.

We can only keep testing with you and hopefully find the issue here. From our side we're not applying anything that we can find. The next step will be for us to connect with your account at the times you're experiencing this issue and see if it occurring.
Will chat to the Critical Care team member dealing with this about it
Our Business packages are completely unshaped and we don't ever change that regardless of time of day or amount of data that's been moved. Our Business accounts essentially perform like capped accounts, except that they are rate limited to the package speed and locked to a single line (as opposed to allowing 10 concurrent connections)
