Hi Afriman. I'm going to give Afrihost a try. About to sign up for the 2MB uncapped business account. I hope it does what it says.

Already processed cancellation at OW.

Awesome, we hope you'll be happy with us. If you haven't signed up yet, drop me a PM for a signup discount on your first month with us :)

Afri*** is there any specific reason why Netflix performance would be affected during the day? I'm experiencing a definite drop in performance during daytime hours.

Other than that, keep up the good work, Afrihost is a great service.

It shouldn't be affected by shaping, but we are seeing heavy demand which can affect overall throughput at the heaviest peaks until shaping settles the demand.

When our new capacity is lit up soon, we'll be able to distinguish much better between any external issues :(

If I wantbto join the netflix hulu crowd. What is best service to get around the country restrictions. I heard unodns and others say vpn is better. What is best for afrihost network.

I have a good experience using UnoDNS on Afrihost. You can try unodns free for a week, Netflix free for a month and Hulu plus free for a week, so best to try it out and see for yourself.

You are using one yourself? If so, whats your incoming and out going connections like during the day? Any issues?

I find no need to, but I have in the past - and it was fantastic! No issues that I experienced

Business Accounts and Capped accounts basically the same, except for the product rate limit. If you're matching your Uncapped to your line potential, then test our a Free GB account - it should give a reasonable indication :)

I wish telkom had the same customer service as you guys :( man would it make life easier...

Telkom surprised me the other day.. I dropped a pm to TelkomZa 2 or three days ago and they got back to me within half a hour. Miracles do still happen from time to time..

But nothing beat Afrihost's client service!

Business accounts are incredibly awesome. I'm speaking from personal experience. Will never go back to a Home package as long as this kind of performance keeps up. :D

Not really a miracle. Telkom is quite good in some regions. :) They fixed noise on my line within one business day after I contacted them myself - Afrihost (who manage my line) support didn't come back to me/followed up (I'm sorry to say). But now my 10Mb account is super stable again.

I agree, I don't have any issues with Telkom in my area, they even ran a new cable down the other side of the property from the street to a new pole in the garden, when the other cable had problems so it could route into the building easier.

Seeing that you have such a low local ping, can you test your international speed please, as I have been hearing that a higher local ping will give you slower international throughput, so in theory, you should have awesome int speed too.
