That would still be services which they select, it's difficult to have a blanket policy for all security updates. There are so many different software systems, versions and types of downloads. We do our best to exempt as many as we can that we know about.

I'm on AfriHost Business Uncapped and my average throughput from newshosting.com has steadily declined from 200k/s on friday to about 25k/s today. Is there any official reason for this steady decline in performance?

Shouldn't be any reason for this, is your Business Optimisation turned on or off?
The setting is available in the ClientZone.

I have a 2mb Business Account and I'm In the Southern Suburbs Cape Town and my account seems to have massive latency since about 17:00. How badly does Business accounts get throttled after hours when Afrihost can't keep up with their service delivery? Is this becoming a common practice?

Cancelled my account today... not without a slight lump in the throat... stuck with

Massive ping spikes on your lines...could be the exchanges unfortunately.

Although those spikes on hop 4 and 6 looks like an Afrihost problem to me.
 
Yep IPC is running at 250ms+

Are they routing the south through the north????

This is more likely to be exchange related. We're not seeing high latency during periods of high demand, only some degraded throughput. It could also be a line fault but the intermittent nature suggests congestion to me :(
