Webafrica.

It feels like my line is syncing at 10Mbps but it shows 20479Kbps on the router

Your line is definitely running at the full 20Mbps, if you are getting sluggish speeds on WebAfrica as well, it could point to your line potentially not running as well as it should be.

Can you reset my port please ill keep testing between ISP'S.

adam_g,

The Port Recreate just finished.

Thanks :) decided to do one last test. I decided to use saix & mybb this time.

On Webafrica

Last Result:
Download Speed: 16904 kbps (2113 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 851 kbps (106.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 18 ms

And on Afrihost

Last Result:
Download Speed: 3945 kbps (493.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 864 kbps (108 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 16 ms

Afrihost on mybb speed test http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2732433144.png

Can you perhaps give me a telkom account or summin just to try test and see.

You are welcome to use the Telkom Guest Account:

I am not sure however that it will really reveal any additional information.

The consistent latency across WebAfrica and the Afrihost account is exactly what we want to see, your Afrihost download speed may not entirely be at full speed until we get all of the planned upgrades in place.

Anyone else having problems with YouTube streaming at present? Usually I can stream at 480p flawlessly on my 2MB line, but over the past two days I've experienced tons of buffering at 360p. In fact, browsing seems slow in general.

Are you seeing poor throughput or increased latency? As far as I can see demand is high in the South but latency should be stable right now.

Both, unfortunately. Ping's higher, download and upload speeds are lower. I've tested a number of different protocols.

Afrihost

Why on axxess i get full 20Mbps speeds and on Afrihost i get 3Mbps well its going at 1Mbps today and you are both on the same network. Im thinking of leaving if this carries on. or i want i refund for this month its not fair to have a capped account and get shaped to the ground and im talking about realtime services.

Streaming is very reliant on stable latency, have you been able to run any tests to see where the latency is being introduced?

Strange to see very different results :(
I believe some troubleshooting was done yesterday with AfriGenie? Are you still in touch with him?

Yea. I told him ill keep testing. Which I am. Decided to buy some Axxess data to see if there is a difference and their is. I am leaning more towards that it is an Afrihost issue and not my line. Webafrica and Vox both perform to the max of my line. So thats 3 ISP'S so far that are all showing full speed just Afrihost speed is terrible.
