My understanding, the mweb throttling is based on a 30 day rolling period. If you're on the cusp and then do 4GB it'll push you over. Your usage may then mean it takes 3 days to get beck under that threshold. If you're cutting it that close you should get a higher threshold account.
Point is that as much as I hate shaping it is preferable over throttling.
Gotta say - I am absolooootely loving Afrihost.
And, I notice you welcomed with a new website - gee honored!!
No seriously, loving it at AH so far.![]()
Unable to stream netflix. Downloads at less than 1kbps. Constant disconnects. Is there something going down?
No issues on the network tonight as far as I can see. any other services affected?
What do your Network Test App results look like?
Downloading the app now. Will let you know in 7345 hours as I'm getting 1B/s!
I totally agree that reading repetitive posts can be annoying and that definitely not our intention at the end of the day.
I also do think that there is only so much we can do from our side. Telkom is solely in control of IPC provisioning and delivery and there is no guaranteed lead time to delivery. We've seen IPC delivered in 6 weeks in some cases, but over 3 months in others. So we are also waiting for the solutions to be delivered, and I know that some other ISPs have publicly complained about this situation in some MyBB articles on this topic.
At the end of the day, I don't believe that going the press route is really helpful, we'll continue engaging with Telkom and pushing as hard as we can (with the weight of MTN behind us) to get the fastest turnaround we can on this.
I do need to respond to the queries we see here, so the information is going to be the same if the questions are essentially the same. So maybe we just need to accept the position that we're all in (and I promise I am in this situation with you) and try to help each other out as best we can until this all gets sorted out with Telkom.
At least another 2 hours to go.Are things really so bad that I'm still shaped at this time of night?
Have to work from home tomorrow... and I'm quite worried by the look of the shaping stats... :erm:
Wow. Try running a tracert and posting it here, should give an indication about what is going on.

If you do another traceroute and hop 2 is high again, then there is probably some congestion at your exchange.
It would not account for disconnects imo., not at those current levels.
You might have to post your Snr and atn stats. They can be found in your router.
Go to the AH home page and download the Network test and run it and the post those results or send to the Helpdesk.
The test used to be on the Home page. Not sure if it moved after the page was upgraded today.
Thanks, will have to download it tomorrow, as downloads are dead.

It is below 50.Not sure if I'm reading this right but your attenuation should be less than 50dB. Speak to Afriman as that seems way too high.
It is below 50.
It should be read as 43.5 and not as 435.
I haven't been able to download a 26MB file from Microsoft. Been trying for several hours.
