What is going on Afrihost, even in morning been shaped... . And Please don't tell use the same old story. Because you told us everything is unshaped between 10pm - 8am.

Shaping is relieved after 10pm, but it depends on demand. We let the network "naturally" shape, which means that most clients experience much lighter shaping after 10pm and most clients are unshaped by midnight. It is totally dependant on demand at that point in time though.

Well then here is the magic question...how long is this going to take?

I can't guarantee that, it really depends on the progress they make as they work on this. But I can promise you that we're pushing for the best solution. The guys worked through the night and are back on the job right now.

Well our unshaped time is over as it seems...

After the upgrade I was unshaped for a few days. Then the last two days shaping kicked in to 12.5/6.25 again.

Had to reinstall my PC due to a new SSD I bought and Google Chrome download estimated a 6 hour download time.

Used Turbo charge to at least be able to download windows updates and the drivers I need.

Hope it improves soon...

Those are definitely not the download times that you want after completing a fresh install of Windows. :(

Our Team is making some progress in getting the network software corrected and operating as it should, it really should not be much longer.

I'm getting 3KB/s on a business account right now... with 70% packet loss... 3 days ago I was told the issue has to be on my end, no response since...

We are seeing some of our users starting to see improved speeds, the packet loss should also start to drop.

Could you perhaps keep an eye on your speeds and let me know when it starts to pick up.

I can understand Afrihost shaping P2P and NNTP, But shaping HTTP and HTTPS is
I am on a Business Account, so shaping should not affect me,
But who made the decision to shape HTTP/HTTPS? that is utterly ridiculous.....

Hmmm, this sounds off, could you send me a PM with your username so that I can have a quick look.

Sorry, no offence, but you clearly do not read.

I am referring the home uncapped accounts, I am business uncapped so everything is fine on my side,
This is just my opinion with regards to the shaping of HTTP/HTTPS traffic on home uncapped accounts.

My apologies, I assumed you were talking about a Business Uncapped account, and not a regular Uncapped account.

For the most part HTTP / HTTPS downloads are shaped less severely than P2P / NNTP, this shaping will really only affect larger downloads.

@AfriGenie, should the P2P be better tonight in CT than the past 2 nights, were a few users who couldnt do 500megs for the whole night?

There should be some improvement, but until I can see how our network utilisation pans out in the next hour or so, it will be tough to say for sure.

What is Happening Afrihost? 600+ ping in dota. Confirmed with 3 other with the same isp in the same game.

700ms ping in league -_- Everyday it just gets worse and worse. Should just permanently switch to webafrica if i'm going to be using the account every time i want to do something that isn't downloading.

Hey guys

Things are coming back up slowly but surely, we're still monitoring things closely. Latency and speeds should return to normal soon.

SSDD

Mumble unusable. Packet loss like made. BF4 unplayable.

Switching to WA account and all runs perfect - go figure.
