WTH Afrihost. At exactly 21:00 your service went to hell! Cannot be trusted as my main provider if you cannot provide service when people play clannies. Geez. Get this fixed please!

EDIT: I ran the above test 3 times after rebooting my router each time btw.

And here we have my WebAfrica account - flawless as always.

Hi guys

We're aware of the issues, it looks to be only affecting the South IPC region - so CPT and surrounds. Our team are working on a fix.

While shaping is there it's done dynamically and based on the network load :)[/QUOTE]

This are bullshat afrihost suck out of there thums i have 32 accounts all on the south network so the load must be the same on all of them but they are not some of the accounts have no shapping, some have 50% some 25% and others 18% so the networkthing are an crap stori for me and when you have ping problems it never there network but over the festive season there where no problem i am busy canceling one account by one coz my 32 account are not an priority for them to look into.

There seems to be a broader problem in the South at the moment as we're seeing latency spike from multiple sources in the region. Don't think it's anything to do with shaping.

We're busy trying to find out what could be causing this :(

its been going on like this from the start of JAN i have opened tickets and send emails and PM everyone with this and nothing gets done only the same bullcrap the whole time your fist hops are to high it must be under 30ms and it was never under 45ms ever and it was not an problem for the 2 almost 2 years i was with you ppl and know its an problem when you switched to the MTN network.

so i don't think you can fix the problem

Surely if you know about it you should update your network status page? Isn't that what it's there for?

We've been seeing excellent latency and throughput in general in the South since last year, so this is definitely not the normal experience, I'm sure most people on the forum would agree :(

What seems to be the problem and what time did it start?

Everything I do online at present is extremely slow.

Guys guys, it's all my fault :( I decided to change back to AH this month and at about 9pm I made my AH account my default account in my router settings :o

Oh, all the above is true, except for the bit about it being my fault :p

On a serious note, would this be related to the problems on Axxess that Ex_Landy_Oke is having?

Since about an hour ago my internet has gone down. On my 10meg line I get speedtest of about 300k. Anyone got same issues.? Rebooted router about 5 times and reset port about 5 times. Also been holding on for Axxess support for the last 10 mins. This tells me they busy as they usually answer the phone immediately in the evenings.

Can't really comment much on that except that Axxess are probably also affected.

The South IPC is seeing high latency, I'm not sure on the cause at this stage - however our teams are working on a fix.

Seems have started just before 9pm. We're still investigating so right now we don't have any confirmed information :(

Hope all goes smoothly and everything's resolved soon. Working at 10pm to fix broken connectivity can only be fun.

My delicious ping:

We received confirmation that this was an issue on Telkom's IPC infrastructure and ISPs with IPC in the area were all affected. We're seeking further confirmation on this from Telkom.

For the moment things look to be returning to normal, would be great to get confirmation from you guys as well.

Looks like things are working now:
