Not that it really matters to me anymore but maybe you could ask the engineers why TurboCharge is so broken at the moment? Was taking about 2 mins in the past to kick in, the last day or so it's 15+ minutes if at all.

It's possible that the problems at our DC may affect the systems that kick in the shaping change. Or it may also be that the problem is related to poor international traffic, in which case shaping is not the issue and Turbocharge would have no effect. As I type this, the second one seems more likely :(

If I cancel my uncapped account today or tomorrow, is it canceled immediately or at the end of the month?
Also how is the billing done when you cancel? If it cancels at month end then it makes sense that you pay for the whole month, while if it cancels today then I'm not sure how it works.

Our cancellation process is month to month. So if you cancel before the 25th of the month, that cancellation takes effect at the end of the current month and you receive service until the last day of the month. If you cancel after the 25th (during billing run) then cancellation takes effect at the end of the following month.

MTN reporting that international traffic has been restored, our tests also showing huge improvement and close to expected results. Is everyone experiencing same?

Hi Afriman

My test was local though not international.

I will check tonight when I get home again.

Thanks, please let us know how the account performance is once you're home.

Ticket: ELD-666-84996

Sincerely sorry about the delays in response here :( For some reason the ticket was requesting more info and got lost somewhere.
Please add some test results so our team can advise further.

The international crud pings and packet loss is back. Was no sign of it today when I played an hour or so.

From my reports latency was pretty solid all through the night last night on the South network, and demand seemed to be pretty stable. However, it did seem like there may have been some users misclassified and only those affected users may have had a poor experience. It would have been a small handful of clients, but they could likely have experienced very poor throughput between about 8pm and 10pm.

Afrihost are really going downwards HTTP download running at only 180kbps switch to other isp running at 410kbps, used drop-box on afrihost runs 1.5kbps switch to other isp running at 410kbps. think i am really done with this crap now

That's definitely disappointing to hear. Gaming should definitely not be an issue at the moment, at all, we've done extensive testing from our side with most popular gaming titles across various platforms, and they all run quite well on our Uncapped accounts. Which games in particular are you having issues with? Would you mind if our Critical Care Team contacts you to assist with the gaming issue?

DNS Problem Confirmed

Local speeds should have remained normal, but it depends on the routing, caching, etc.

A few clients reported that switching DNS to Google DNS improves their experience. Can anyone here confirm that?

It does look like DNS via 196.7.7.7 is acting up. A bunch of sites don't resolve while using that, but it works when using 8.8.8.8.

Im getting strange latency spikes and packet loss every now and again. Anyon else?

That may have been the case when we were having data centre problems, but all should be proper now.

Do you use static DNS assignment or dynamic (from ISP)? If you're using dynamic, you should be able to resolve on all sites. If not, please post some traceroutes here so I can take a look (and please mark which ones are tested using which DNS). If that's a bit too much to paste on a forum (not always image friendly) please drop me a mail on [email protected].

We did see a rise in latency in the South last night, looks like it was between 9pm and 10pm mostly, so latency should have returned to normal just after 10pm. Other regional networks seemed to show normal latency through the evening (especially at the time of your post).

If you're still seeing latency, can you show me how you're testing that so I can try to replicate on my side?
