Seems the support people are trying to milk more money. You cannot cancel the uncapped dsl accounts without a months notice..yet their website shows no contracts, month to month.

Not quite sure I follow here...
If you cancel before the 25th your cancellation will take place at the end of that month.

As per support reply which I recieved today:

Good Afternoon *******

Thank you for your email.

Kindly be advised that there is a high influx of emails due to the billing run, therefore there is a delay with responses to emails.

However, please be advised that there is a 30 days notice period for cancellations. ...blah blah fishpaste

Even worse is you have to cancel before the 25th. First ISP I have come across that cant process a cancellation after the 25th.

Afriguy,

Initially I got the impression that price cuts were planned for uncapped accounts as well. Is this no longer the case?

Sorry about the incorrect info here, perhaps you can PM me your account info so I can have a better look at this for you?
If you cancel via the ClientZone it should show that the cancellation will take place at the end of the month.

They don't have enough capacity or support people and you want lower prices so they can get even more overloaded? :wtf:

Wait, at which point did you see me asking for a price cut?

Also, the plan was to first upgrade capacity and then reduce prices. Well, at least that's what I thought the plan was.

I'm afraid I can't go into that kind of detail :(

Thought so, honestly whoever deals with the network capacity should be asked to take a look at the social media complaints, you guys that sit in the support side don't get paid enough to have to deal with complaint after complaint, your company needs to pull their finger out you won't have the majority of the issues resulting in over exposed support agents.

Why did bundled clients not receive the double data offer too? Whats the point of having our line with you if we can't benefit on offers like that?

The flow of info is very good from our end, everyone knows what everyone else is looking at on our end :)
Trust me, we're aware of this guys - and we're doing everything we possibly can to get it fixed up.

I think this was briefly covered over in the Capped thread.
We're reviewing Capped Bundle packages at the moment.

Afrihost is such a ballsup at the moment dude, unfortunately I can only blame this on their management

Lets just see what my shaping is like, seeing as I haven't used my account for 3 days as an experiment to test if it will ease shaping policy, guess what: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P

Seriously, not even Mwebs throttling is this bad

They don't look at your usage at all. You can stop using for a month and it won't affect your shaping. They look at overall network stress in your area.

If your are routing through Cape Town, the shaping will only be lifted in the early morning hours.

Till the new capacity is added, we will stay in this semi permanent shaping state unfortunately.

Unfortunately so :(
Once we see the additional capacity go live we should see the shaping ease when it used to.

We don't have anything confirmed the Uncapped price changes at this stage.
Nothing confirmed or nothing in the pipeline?
Everyone lead us to believe Uncapped users can expect price drops too. Thing is, I don't mind paying more for AH than I would for almost any other Uncapped ISP - but then I expect much better performance than we're getting now, and in fact, better performance than the competition. Neither is true right now.
