Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

I think I've covered this a lot lately, AfriMan is on leave - coming back a little later this week. While we try to cover everything, all the time, it's not always possible.

I have had 6.5% download shaping for weeks now. Waste of time even attempting to download as I get 6.5kb speeds and the guy I sent a message to tells me to buy capped data as it should solve the problem. Guess he is right.

@AfriGuy, why has shaping been so bad over the past while? This month it's been especially bad. Are there network problems?

We're seeing high demand on our network in the South - we're waiting for additional capacity to have this fixed up though.

Additional capacity? If so, do you have any kind of time frame for the implementation?

I assume the high demand is at least in part due to more and more people moving to Afrihost due to their good deals. And the deals are good. That's why I moved from a competitor. Hopefully Afrihost continues to upgrade their network in keeping with increased demand from consumers, so that existing customers don't see decreased service levels as is the case currently. I've made a point of moving to what appeared to be a very good, highly-rated ISP, now I feel that ISP needs to make a point of ensuring that I don't regret that decision.

Experincing no internet at the moment. Started at about 12pm today. Cape Town region. Not sure if its Helkom or possible Afrihost issue. #using my phone.

Correct, sorry - I've edited my post now :)

Oh no :(
Are you not able to authenticate at all? Does your router have a sync?

If your account is bundled you'll need to un-bundle first. If you're still having troubles with this drop me a PM and I'll help you out.

For what its worth - I also got an error last night, but it seems it all went well.

I would suggest the user check for the SMS before reporting an issue?
