Hey Afriman - All good with the connection and shaping at the moment, but whats up with being the most expensive of all the the SP's on 2mb line uncapped as per http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/100260-uncapped-adsl-where-to-get-the-best-deal.html?
We still think that the categories are not quite correct to compare our product to throttled or fixed shaping Uncapped products, as the value to the client is essentially very different. Once our network upgrades are complete - I think the experience will be very different and a rand-for-rand comparison doesn't really show this.

There's more to uncapped than price.
MyBB does this every single time... They take MWEB's Standard uncapped product pricing and put it in with the others without making it known in the article. The comparable product to Afrihost's R297 one listed there is MWEB's Premium uncapped, which costs R369, making it far and beyond the most expensive ISP for 2MB uncapped. That's the reason I moved to Afrihost when upgrading from 1MB to 2MB. Afrihost's bundled 2MB = R397. MWEB's bundled 2MB = R509. Paying more to get nothing more? I think not.

From my perspective this article is just taking the cheapest uncapped option from each provider and comparing them, is that really so much of a problem?

I don't think that's an issue, but might be better to include a column for the product differences - i.e. Throttled, Fixed Shaping and Shaping by Demand. make a difference in the value offering to the client, in my opinion

I agree, they should put these into perspective (AUP/FUP) when doing comparisons.

When it comes to uncapped "class" is defined by price, type of shaping and threshold throttling limits if any.
The cars also use different petrol. LRP(MTN), 93(SAIX) and 95(IS).

That would really help.
Not too sure what you're getting at here. The ISPs have very different offerings that translate into very different experiences for consumers.
Also, to comment on the analogy, even if all the parts were the same, the assembly could still vary between manufacturers.

Meh, I still don't think there is that much difference between those products they're comparing to warrant putting them in their own class.
