hmmm, been trying to download the thrones of games but it was stuck at 3kB/s.. got on my free 1 gig and it downloaded in 15 mins.

However my shaping policy has been 18% and 6.25% since I joined afrihost. but I've never been shaped this badly on torrents but everything else is fine so can't complain.

Yeah, its 10 pm and here is my shaping stats:

Guess P2P can get an extra 6.25%!!!!

I'm sure this will improve when we get that upgrade. Shaping will probably still be there at times, but we'll be able to shape less harshly and unshape more quickly at off peak.

If you're shaped at maximum, then torrents would be especially affected, while Free GB accounts are not shaped at all for any services.

Once the upgrade arrives, we should see things ease up in terms of shaping though.

That's all i want.

I activated a turbocharge last night to download some drivers for a PC that I was fixing up, and the turbocharge had no effect at all! :( I downloaded from multiple sites and no download went over 60kbs. I had a brief glimmer of hope when an nvidia driver spiked at 110kbs, but that lasted only about 5 seconds.

I have had the same experience with the Turbo charge minutes lately.

My honest opinion is just to use another account till IPC arrives and reevaluate then.
I have the rest of the house on AH uncapped, but I would go crazy if I personally had to use my AH uncapped.

I switched business last week and it has been smooth sailing since then.

The last time I tried it, I was even worse off than on my Home account.
Switched back after 2 days.

Did you deactivate protocol prioritization? I am getting full speed on all protocols atm. My brother even asked if I did something to the account. Maybe you just unlucky.

Did you check whether your shaping changed in ClientZone to unshaped. If it didn't change, then perhaps the Turbocharge didn't go through :(

PM me and I'll look into this for you.

Sorry that you're in that position. I'm pretty sure that once our upgrade arrives, we'll be able to enjoy the experience we've come to expect on the network.

This is a good point - deactivating the PP setting in Clientzone makes a pretty big difference. Just remember that it only affects P2P, and not other protocols.

I did, but P2P is not important for me during office hours.
P2P is scheduled for 00:00 - 06:00, however I need full Http speed during the day.
The other factor is that I'm only getting 600kbps international speed, so I'm effectively throttled to less than a quarter of my speed. That was the case on the Business account as well.

Other ISP accounts, capped and uncapped and AH capped account gives me my expected 4Mbps results.

Strange that international performance is affected, but I'm presuming this relates to http downloads as well - which is affected by shaping.

Yeah I don't understand why I'm getting 600kbps on speedtests. That is on my Home account. On Business it clocked in at 530kbps.

Local gives me the expected 3.4Mbps and any other account shows 3.4 for local and International.
At times the local records up to 3.7Mbps.

Hope fully the IPC upgrade will sort it.
