I'm a little concerned with the timeouts, but we've seen these crop up here and there in tests. Otherwise results seem pretty normal.

What are you experiencing?

If there is any shaped traffic on your connection, QoS would kick in to try to deliver priority to realtime services. It would also depend on the server's you're using as some use different protocols for their traffic. Our tests with BF4 to the official EA servers show realtime classification, but if you're playing elsewhere, we'll need to analyse whether we are identifying the signature correctly or if they are using P2P elements. So we'll need to test with you to determine this.

Playing on locally hosted servers only. I've played on 8 servers and they have all had the same effect on my traffic.

What do you need from me to resolve this.

EDIT: I'll jump on EA's international servers tonight and test your claim that it's realtime as well and report on that.

In connection with my BF4 query please supply me with a server which you have confirmed the traffic as being classified as realtime. I don't want to do a lot of leg work for you and then be told the servers I chose were the wrong ones.
Please post server name or address that I can use to test with which your team and network have confirmed as realtime.

I don't have the server names, but they usually publish them on their forums. We've tested over PC and console, using the stock standard online services.

I'll try and find those tonight and use them. Also please note that this happens not when I am in game even...just logged into battlelog causes this...so the server having an effect is a moot point actually. Will test it either way and post the tracerts and screenshots here tonight.

Just being connected to the server will send tiny packets of data to the server to keep the connection open. I can't imagine that even if shaped this could affect such a small amount of data. But let's test and take it from there.

Those tiny packets of data are being shaped which in isolation is not a problem as even shaped on a 4mb line my upload and download is sufficient to handle the gaming traffic. When now using other realtime services while that shaping is in effect is what is my problem - ala mumble, ventrilo, teamspeak, youtube etc.

I'll post the screenshots and tests evidence tonight.

Thanks, looking forward to having this checked out :)

We know that we have some performance issues in the South at the moment related to capacity. However, we expect to receive an IPC upgrade very shortly and this should resolve this pretty quickly.

I would say sign up a free GB account and check for yourself. Maybe wait for the confirmation of the upgrade here first and test when our network is at it's best :)

Thanks For the reply Afriman, but I was referring to the uncapped accounts.

I am currently on am currently on an Afrihost capped account.

Is it possible to test an uncapped account

Hm. Same here so far.
Strange. Yes, good things make me suspicious :P

To my knowledge we haven't received the upgrade, but our team are constantly working on improving performance and we have several small sub-projects on the go while we wait for the upgrade to make the network more efficient while we wait for the upgrade.

And YouTube is streaming in 720p. So if there wasn't an upgrade yet, who fixed what and what was broken? :/

I don't have any confirmation on specific changes made, but as I posted just prior to this, we're making continuos improvements as part of our day to day network management.

We don't offer test accounts unfortunately. But if you drop me a PM, I can give you a link to a 50% discount on your first month's pro-rata :)

I've been noticing performance decreases and increases, depending on the day. YouTube seems to be streaming fine now, where it wasn't before. P2P downloads were very slow a week ago, became fast for a night, then became extremely slow again two days ago. Hopefully these performance variations will be fixed by means of the capacity upgrade.

@AfriMan, what is the reason that Afrihost doesn't offer uncapped test packages?
