Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

Have you all ever trying to cancel AH! Heaven forbid then you are really sucking hind tit, slow to no speeds, interrupted service sometimes disconnecting 4 to 6 times a day, 4 gig download takes 5 days plus to get to 60% with active seeds and peers. guess it serves me right I am a naughty boy, have cancelled. BUT I HAVE STILL PAID FOR THE MONTH!! and yes those are capital letters

Yo, you posted this exact message on the POC thread, so I am not sure why your double posted. I think I've answered your query as best I can, but can we keep that to the POC thread, if that is where it is most relevant? :(

I know, did it myself, just kidding, I am so over it now another 9 days to go then I can download again like I used to when AH was still a caring ISP that looked after its client base. Enough said lets not beat a dead horse. Best of luck for the future.

Sorry about that. I think I can speak for all the reps who have chatted with you that we wish you all the best. I do hope we'll see you again some time in the future though :(
 
Just a heads up for clients in the South (Cape Town, PE, East London, etc)

We're seeing an authentication problem in the South at the moment. We're not seeing any traffic coming through. We hope to have everything back up shortly.

Will post any updates I receive.
 
Why is the network soo slow, mostly social media sites. Google related works. Any oddities going on ?

yes it's on MTN... they don't care about the AH accounts anymore, try the Afrigreen account - experience the same PoC (piece of crap) service they telling us to waste our time testing with.

The main MTN network should not be affected by any peering changes on AfriGreen (in preparation of making the new network live and migrating users onto it).

Can you post any further info like traceroutes?

Afrigreen performance is still generally great, I use the capped account at home. While P2P may have it's poor moments when demand is high, I never have problems with real time services. I'm very confident, based on this performance, that the new network is going to perform really well :)

Please be aware that we are seeing an issue that is affecting both Mobile ands DSL. MTN are investigating and we are hoping to get this resolved shortly.

Will post updates when I have them :(

If you don't have an AfriGreen account, please PM me and we'll get you moved over ASAP.

Afrigreen is unaffected - so if you're seeing poor throughput on your current account - drop me a PM with your DSL username and I can have detailed generated for Afrigreen.

The speeds are terrible. What happened to the seamless transition to Afrigreen?

This isn't the migration :)
I'm afraid there are some technical issues we're working through.

Drop me a PM with the DSL username you guys are using and I'll setup details on the Afrigreen network for you.
 
@AfriGuy, does Afrihost have a date by which they want to have everyone moved over to Afrigreen?

No ETA yet - it's something we're working towards though, and will be completed within October.
We'll have more comms around the migration soon though.

My ADSL performance is quite bad at present. Would you recommend I got new details from you and switched over to Afrigreen, or do you expect the problem with the old network to be resolved soon?
