Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Trying to download debian, using a main mirror and a few local ones.... on the 10mbps uncapped getting 30B to 150KB.... wtf.
 
ADSL Emergency Maintenance

We're performing emergency maintenance at a software layer on the equipment used to manage our ADSL service.

The software patch is being applied to improve our service.

We don't expect any downtime or lack of service and will be monitoring closely.

The software upgrade will be performed between 17h00 and 18h00 this evening.

This is the type of preemptive feedback I like and expect from an ISP of the year. :)
 
Very bad performance here so logged a call with tech support.

According to them my account has been shaped. I've used 44.86GB this month. Not sure if that is considered abuse? Is it?

It is so bad that I can't access most websites. Steam takes 30 minutes to open. Took 4 hours for a 1MB email to go through. Back on 3G now.

Not happy and definitely not uncapped.

What account are you on? 1MB? Even then 44GB sounds ridiculous.

must say i must commend afrihost on there service.. after complaining here, they got in touch straight away!

They gave me a gaming account to use while they were fixing the DC issue, and it worked flawlessly. So atleast they are trying :)

And as to my account, other than the DC's it is 100's! Sometimes during the day speeds drop to 300kb/s, but i can deal with that :) just did a speedtest to the uk

Just got to my PC, did a speedtest on my 10mb uncapped line (youtube / speedtest.net / nntp) and everything is topping out at 300kBps. Havent tested since yesterday (been using another account) but as far as I know its been this way since Sunday evening

@SpecialOps-Afrihost: I see there has been emergency maintenance carried out (5:00pm to 6:00pm).. It it finished / successful?

Well, I'm happy for you, but they did absolutely nothing for me despite spending from last week complaining about the DC issue, other than to refuse a pro-rata refund of unused bandwidth on my capped account. Which tech support said they would do, but accounts then refused to do. And they took two days to get in contact after first contacting them. So I'd say their service is terrible.
