Better this morning.

I'm sure its "not pertinent". Its extremely pertinent especially since you advertise them on your site as someone that trusts Afrihost, and then they jump ship. Its not about the client, its more about why they are doing it. If they cant trust you anymore, can I as a customer trust you?

I think if a client wants to discuss whether he is no longer with us, that is their prerogative. For me to discuss this, especially in a public forum, would not be ethical. It would be the same as someone saying "Is XXX still an ADSL client? And if not why did they leave?" and me saying "Well no they not, because their credit card kept bouncing" or something along those lines.

I thought as an IT professional you would agree with me, but that's how I feel. Why would you trust us with your private information if we did anything differently?

Yep, I'm getting full line speed this morning as well... A stark contrast from last night's one sixteenth of line speed.

Using this for torrent tests

Looking good on afrihost

Ok, somebody fixed something, don't touch a thing. Between steam and the odd torrent line is maxing out at 2Mb's this morning. Looking a million times better. Good work guys, let's hope this fixes it permanently.

I was doing 400kbps this morning, first time i've maxed out my line in ages, but i have been shaped down to 30kbps. Back to being punished.

Was doing 430kbps on 4Mbps line this morning. Quite good. Not sure what it's doing now.

In other news, my ClientZone credentials stopped working for some reason... well, now that I'm forced to login to the new ClientZone it doesn't work anymore. Let's see how long support takes. Go!

Seems good this morning on the torrent front... Had only 350MB to download this morning, but it was flying along nicely @90-100KB/s on my 1Mb line. Now the line will be in more or less idle mode for the rest of the day since i got my download done fast.

I am now back down to 128 kilobits per second throttling, effectively giving me 1/16th of the speed I'm supposed to get on a 2Mbps line/account.

Throttling during office hours is standard for uncapped in any ISP. Only thing that annoys me is the current definition of "business hours".

Well, business hours are from 8:00 till 23:00 at least, and while it is normal for uncapped accounts to be throttled, I have never seen any other ISP throttle me to 1/16th of the line speed for pretty much 99% of the day I am awake. Before the move to MTN, I would be between 50% and 100% of my line speed during business hours...

Unless you are on Business uncapped - you will not get the normal great speed - this was the same when we were on IS.
For us normal people uncapped should theoretically - THEORETICALLY - go back to normal after business hours - note I said THEORETICALLY :)

Well, I think in theory it is that way - any Business Uncapped users currently out there that can comment on their speed?

I think it's only standard if we accept it without kicking up a fuss.
