Havent heard of Deezer, Google Music works fine for me though; have had this spotify problem for over a month now and it's getting highly annoying.

Pity because I really like the Spotify app, especially that it uses the apple media keys - and the fact that it's free if you don't mind a few ads.

Problem with Deezer is that the workstation interface is all browser based. Not a train smash I guess.

However I do pay for Spotify and it costs me almost R100 a month and right now I am wasting money as I can't use it.

Trying out Deezer now looks pretty cool despite the lack of a desktop app. Music smooth so far and it's free for 6 months so I'll use this now until (if) Spotify gets sorted.

Yeah spotify isnt worth paying for with the connectivity issues.

I want try out the business uncapped 10Mbps account. Currently with Mweb Uncapped and downloads ex news servers and torrents are very much "best effort service" these days at certain times.

If I sign up now, when will I be billed? Only Next month then plus the July data cost? Or can I pay for test month (June) by EFT for example?

We only accept credit cards and debit orders as payment for DSL products. It allows us to run a much more automated system. We also bill in advance, so you'll be charged a pro-rata fee for May, and then for June on the 1st in full.
 
Let hope I don't jinx it but I must give Afrihost a nice big up. On my measly 1mb uncapped I clapped 124gb up and till today and my projected use is 138gb for the month of May. Thank you Afrihost!

Results seem pretty intermittent, judging by this traceroute. We'd need to run a few more consecutive tests to get a better idea if there is a trend in where the latencies spike, or if it's possibly intermittent at your line or exchange.

Drop me a PM so I can have our guys run through some thorough testing with you.
 
I upgraded my 1 meg line to 4 meg yesterday, but it is still running on 1 meg although my profile on the client zone says 4 meg.I tried in vain to get help from the service desk for 4 hours yesterday.

The answers I got from them was that my whole area was being throttled down to 1 meg. As I understand the system, only non realtime traffic will be throttled while everything on my side(including speed test) is running slow. I do have an 8 meg line and tested another capped account and this runs at full line speed.

Afrihost gave me the best aftersales service so far I have ever gotten from any ISP. If You guys keep this up, you have a subscriber for the next couple of years. Thanks.
