right, been away for the long weekend so haven't checked performance for a few days so just checked now
here it is from speedtest

Download Speed: 1183 kbps (147.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 163 kbps (20.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

For some weird reason, I also cannot connect to Google from my home 1MB Afrihost DSL, but it's working happily at work which is using a 4MB Afrihost line.
Edit: I've tried using Afrihost, SAIX & Google's own DNS servers.![]()
Still latency problems here.
Cant even get onto ClientZone.
When will this be sorted out?

Bad latency does not = immediately Afrihost mistake/problem, it can be many factors on the route.

See a few guys talking about being shaped too aggressively. I totally feel what you guys are saying, especially 10Mbps clients who have only done 40-50GB. The thing to remember is that the shaping is calculated on your usage patterns over a 30 day period / window. It's not just a calculation on totals, the system analyzes usage patterns over time to determine which policies to apply on an individual basis.
Second thing to remember is that it is always relative to available to capacity at that given moment. If demand is extremely high, especially for real time services, even very light users could be shaped to protect the network and to ensure that real time services do not suffer for all clients, and that the network can always deliver the best experience possible (as opposed to unusable internet which happens with throttling). Only Torrents and File Sharing are shaped to the percentage value. HTTP downloads will not be shaped to that extent, though I don't have the exact figures for each policy, we try to keep those services are max speeds as well.
Now that Northern, East Coast and Southern Region each have their own IPC, shaping is done individually on each IPC. I'm guessing that most people reporting heavy shaping are in the Southern region, as it seems the demand is fairly heavy in relation to capacity. However, since shaping is always at that moment in time, at some point most users in the region will be unshaped in the late hours or overnight.

Maybe you have damaged or set something wrong in your Operating System or Router and now you cannot get to Google.
Like you say at your work it is perfect, and I have no problems with Google.
So logic says, you have something localized that is messed up.
That same "something" might also cause your bad performance.

I'm running a recording studio and most of the product are downloaded and up to 30 gig
My guess is, that it is due to the restoration routes that are being used whiles the cables in the Mediterranean sea are being repaired.
I am sure it will change back to normal route and latency when the cables are repaired.
