Hey

If you do hit the throttle limit (which I think I did) how long does it take to reset? Does 30 day rolling mean it will only reset in 30 days? Or when your previous 30 days go under the throttle limit? Its kinda slow now :) But awesome product in general, especially at this price.

It depends on where your usage spikes are. It might only be a few days if you had high usage early on in the 30 day period.

You can send me a PM so I can look into whether you are being throttled.

Horrible pings tonight. My line has never been this bad before.

Will you please send me a PM so that we can look into the ping times you are getting? Doesn't look right to us as well.

Morning all :) since yesterday 3pm well it just went too bits from Somerset West side. I got such laag that my son on BF3 was not playable and World of Tanks was also a no go :( I used my old WA account and it seemed better for some reason so dunno whats going on ? I did contact a mate of mine that runs the helderview exchange and said nothing was planned or worked on so dunno .Gotta love the Inet in africa lol works great them baamm things go all weird.

As i type this message im getting 300ms too 350ms too the EU servers for World of Tanks where it normally is 198ms to 210ms which is fine ?

So i will wait and see if it gets better but MMMmmm dunno. My Son plays for Bravdo so he plays clannies and such and on a laaged out account aint cool.

Regards

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I am also from SSW and am on the exchange in town, absolutely no problems apart from some lag spikes at about 9pm. Im on the 10mbps uncapped from Afrihost. Unfortunately I can't comment on speeds during the day.

Also, Whilst I know who and what Bravado is, I doubt anyone here would care about Bravado or Hackem, and how good he is at what he does... :)

Will let you know how things are tonight.

I undertand it must be pretty frustrating from your side. Is this the first time this has happened, or have you had consistent issues? Please PM me some more information so we can look at this for you.

Which Uncapped service are you using?

1mb
4mb
10mb

I have a 10mb line with Telkom 20GB package. I'm looking at getting either the 4mb uncapped (which will cost me R60 more than what I'm paying now) or the 1mb uncapped (which will cost me almost R300 less per month.)

But I don't want something that is crawling.

I'm a 4meg user,10Gig a day usage average,no slowdowns, playing WoW and D3 happily too while torrenting and using NZB. Definitely enjoying it ^

What I like about my 10mb line is that I can download a 3MB file in about 4 seconds.

How long does it take to download a 3MB file on the 4mb and 1mb line?

I need to ask this. Are they fine with this? Thinking about the "fair usage policy".

Minor throttling starts at roughly 120 gigs on the 1meg, 270 on the 4meg and 450 on the 10meg.

Going from 4MB to 1MB was unbearable for me, even running at full line speed.. if you are on 10MB, then 1MB is going to be like nails on a chalk board.. I'm on the 4MB Afri uncapped now and it's great :) it seems to burst to around 4.5mbit on my line which syncs at 6mb

@Afriman any chance that Afrihost will have a similar tool to the one that WA just developed to manage your ADSL line in the client panel?

Hi Afrihost,
I have a 1MB uncapped account with you which we signed up for last month. My usage is 100GB (under the 170GB Ive read here) but we are limited to 50% of line speed and gaming is a lot more laggy. I dont see anywhere on the control panel where I can work out if we have hit our 30 day roll over limit, is 50% a normal drop?
Thanks!

PS: If this is the case then a steam sale and this account dont play well!

On 1Mb you're gonna hit throttle at around 120GB, not 170GB. Your speed shouldn't drop below 512Kbps, which is 50%.

You'll need to PM me your username so I can check the throttle settings on your account.

Thanks for the info, you guys really should display this info on your product pages to avoid confusion! ^.^
