What day of the month does Afri send out invoices? Haven't got mine yet.
how good are pings to the UK/Europe compared to Mweb?
I get around 225-300 ping on EU server on D3 depending on the time of day. Mostly below 300, I am on 4mb uncapped.
What would be nice is some way to view your rolling 30 day usage window, instead of monthly to date, in the Client zone. You can go in, download last month's usage and calculate it yourself, but it seems like something that could be automated with minimal effort.
Finally got my 1Mb Uncapped up and running, exchange here in Goedemoed is about 1,3km away(There are a couple, but this is the closest). Ran speedtests, very stable. Tested a download of 400mb yesterday via torrent, under 2 hours, and 2.7Gb (Battlefield 3 Update) in 4.5 - 5 hours.
Afriman, seems you guys are a bit behind, according to the clientzone, my line hasn't been converted yet, though I have upgraded my account to a bundle and already used just over 3 GB, and got invoiced? Got a sms this morning saying you are still waiting for Telkom, can't be mate, since it's working 100%! :erm:
I upgraded recently to 4mb uncapped.
Downloaded the GW2 Beta, DAYZ and some torrents.
Speeds are so inconsistent. It slows so bad that you cant even browse.
Will see how August is and then decide to move or what...
Sorry about that, Telkom inform us when they have completed the conversion, but it becomes active immediately, so there is some time between the time it goes live and when the update is registered on our system. It's a PHE (Puny Human Error) issue![]()
Sorry to hear that the product doesn't seem stable, we'll need to look into this immediately!
Please send me a PM with your username so I can check if there are issues with your account or with your ADSL line.
I would like to know something. I'm currently connected at 10mb/s. At Telkom I usually got anything between 8mb/s and even 10mb/s.
This is what I get with Afrihost. Is this the same it will be when I get a 10mb uncapped account?

Is this on a capped account that you get these results, or have you already signed up an uncapped product?
I have two 4Mbps ADSL lines in my office. One is supplied by MWEB and is always fast and never gives a moment's trouble, the other is supplied by AfriHost (it's a 4Mbps Business Uncapped Account @ R997pm). The AfriHost account is VERY slow during business hours and I've tried switching modems, ADSL lines, cables etc with the MWEB connection, but nothing improves the speed. I've even gone so far as to buy a new ADSL modem. The MWEB connection performs admirably no matter what configuration of lines and modems I use.
I am sure that I am being shaped / throttled during business hours, but no one I speak to at the support centre will take me seriously. They test the line and tell me that it is syncing at 4Mbps and that I'm not being shaped / throttled.
Here are some speedtest.net results as proof:

These tests were done using one computer connected directly to the modem (i.e. no other computers involved) and with no other programs running or downloading data. I have also tried using different computers, but all with the same results.
What is going on here? I though a Business account was supposed to have priority during business hours.
