Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

What I mean is, an app doesn't help if the guys are complaining about their ADSL lines not working.. :-)

But the app is something totally and completely separate. It's not like they can take the app developer and tell him he should break into IS' facilities and upgrade their infrastructure for them.

The problem has been at its worst for the past week, started a week before that and still no end to fix in sight.
I understand the problem will take at least another week to fix if we are lucky and no communication on when the move to MTN business will happen.

The big issue here that people are forgetting is that 384 lines will be upgraded to 1Mb lines next month - Afrihost will not even offer 384K as a ISP product - meaning it will put much more permanent strain on Afrihosts IS network.
With next months 384K upgrade that will still happen I am getting worried.

Looking at Afrihost's uncapped prices the saying "if it sounds to could to be true it probably is" comes to mind.

I lost my Afrihost connection and it does not want to reconnect, not my prepaid or uncapped.
Get the same technical error as above when I try to reach my account via the clientzone.
It is like my accounts have vanished.

I am now posting from my FNB backup account.
 
Our Radius Server (which manages authentications and ClientZone) is experiencing problems. We have engineers on site at the data centre who sorting this out. This will affect authentication on all ADSL products and Wifi. I am told this should be a couple of hours at most. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Clients currently connected should not be affected, I am told. Client who are trying to connect may have difficulty but should still be able to connect eventually. ClientZone is completely unavailable until the maintenance is complete.

OK, After battling for an hour+ I have been able to re-establish connection

How can I change my ADSL connection password? I would like to personalize it so I can use it easily when I want to!

Typed another accounts details in to my router today and it wasn't working yet! So there I was without my AfriHost uncapped details and no way to get onto my email to get the password! Phones airtime is finished :(

I seem to only find RESET Password, which says its reset to some new pass, but it doesn't seem to work!

This morning my net was down, it was my password that finally changed.

I don't think you can, not from the client zone at least.
 
I haven't been able to connect to Steam to play games in the past two nights. Anyone having the same issue?

Yeah same here. What did help was a router reboot and pc reboot. As it seems I was still not getting enough bandwidth to start steam. It downloads a couple of MB's of data before Steam can start.

Restart router and pc
Open Steam
Don't click on steam for like 3 minutes. It will say not responding but it will still be downloading!

Anyways,why kill the devs work when the upstream provider is being a tit

Mtn is coming. Let's see how that goes. When is the big switch over?

You can do that in ClientZone, just click on MyProduct > My Connectivity and the Access Details icon (padlock) on the account you want to change.
 
I didn't realise how much I've downloaded this month until i checked your app out.... 220gb on a 2mb line:D.
