Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

4mbps uncapped account.

No complaints from me currently. In Edenvale, Gauteng.
 
Only getting 0.4Mb on speedtest since yesterday in PE, This is sad my cybersmart uncapped account was actually faster.
 
NNTP downloads from europe averaging 600KB/sec this morning (6mb line)
 
I tried some normal browsing last night around 8, what a joke. Even Google took 15 seconds to open.

However, torrents were running full speed, between 96 and 110 kB/s.

I did not even try a speedtest. Got fed up and went to sleep early.

1mb uncapped.
 
Hi Guys

From what I can tell, things are generally back to normal, though a few users are still reporting issues which could be individual issues, we'd need to look into them and determine this. As far as we can tell, the network is performing within acceptable limits, but we are still monitoring very carefully. IS have reported that as soon as IPC upgrades we complete, using immediately spiked , so thousands of users definitely got more speed and throughput.

If anyone is still experiencing significantly slow speeds, we'll need to look at each case individually, so send me a PM and I'll get our support guys onto it ASAP.

speeds were terrible this past two weeks up until last night when i went to bed around 11pm but its seems to be back to normal this morning :D getting almost line speed on torrents while still being able to browse, hoping it lasts.

Things have no doubt become better since Monday. Last week, I generally got about 1/4th of the 1Mbps I pay for. This week I sometimes get up to 1/2 of the 1Mbps I pay for. So yes, things have improved.

However, I've been an Afrihost customer since June, although in part thanks to you guys completely failing at getting the ADSL line up and running I wasn't able to use my Afrihost connection till July, I have not even one single time between July and now been close to getting the speed I pay for. When things are really good (mostly when I'm sleeping), I can get about 80kB/s out of my connection.

Since things haven't ever been different for me, is this the sort of service you expect to deliver, or is there definitely something wrong and should I get you guys to look at it?

Get the guys to look anyway. Costs you nothing and you have nothing to lose.
 
Glad to hear you guys are getting your speed back,was feeling quite bad that I only had only a single day of bad speed last month:D.
