Must be that William wallace blood or maybe the warrior gene?![]()
Not far offThere can be only one, pity it is not the time for "The Quickening"
And lemme guess, you're the Kergan? Or maybe being a Scot, Sean Connery's character?
Both of whom lost to the lisping frenchman![]()

What's this MTN trial account thing I read about? I realise Afrihost is moving to the MTN backbone... is it possible to be moved over early?
It's 11pm, and the 4Mb ADSL uncapped account on a 10Mb Telkom line (that usually runs at 7Mb) is doing 2.4Mb.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/2231732599.png This is three times faster than earlier this evening, but still not ideal by any means.
At the office the 4Mb AH account on the 4Mb line (moved to Afrihost) was 0.82Mb/s down and 0.27Mb/s up earlier today.
It's not end of the world stuff if it's short term, but if it stays like this going forward, I'd really prefer to be moved over. Our office is crawling at a snails pace and we're close to the point of switching as the end doesn't seem to be in sight.
So far, MTN seems to working out pretty nicely. And you guys thought it would be awful. Tsk tsk
Seriously though, we'r not out of the woods yet, so please give us as much feedback as you can so we can continue to tweak and improve performance before we make the official cutover.
Speaking of which, there will be some pretty important announcements in this regard when Gian takes the podium today at the MyBroadBand Conference, so please keep your eyes and ears peeled. We are just a fraction of a polony skin away from awesomeness!
What time is he speaking?![]()
I checked on the schedule, and it seems he will be speaking at around 14:45ish.
Will tune in to the live stream to see what's going to happen.

Very happy to hear things are working out for you thus far.
Your company has copped a fair amount of flak over the last couple of weeks some of it justified and some of it reminiscent of how a drug addict would speak to his supplier who had just run out of crack.
Those in the know will realize the issue is with IS more than it is with Afrihost but I guess these are the pitfalls for the middle man. IS shafted Afrihost with IPC, let's hope the partnership with MTN will prove to be a more harmonious one.

Just received an email saying my account will be moved to MTN on the 16th of October.
Hopefully this will sort this speed issues out.
Holding thumbs.
