Yup, dropped too, back online with by backup backup FNB connect account.
just noticed this on webafricas network status. so maybe telkom brought everyone down--accident?

Telkom will be performing maintenance on our IPC and SAIX links. The work window has been scheduled for 7 hours but we do not expect downtime to exceed 30 minutes per link. Telkom engineers will be on standby during the maintenance window to ensure minimal downtime.

Was online the whole day, didn't notice anything wrong apart from the usual slowness since the migration. Outage? Storm in CPT? We had some rain, but it was just rain, nothing like a storm or such.
Still not having joy on my 10meg uncapped on video streaming sites such as gorillavid
Youtube seems tweaked and plays well regardless of time of day.
Other streaming sites okay early morning but no good during the day and evening.
Took me more than an hour to watch a 40 minute 100MB video file last night.
On a 10Meg uncapped that should buffer in a couple of minutes not more than an hour.
Afrihost support team have been responsive to help requests but as yet no solution
In comparison I didn't have any streaming issues prior to the migration

Not sure whats happened , but my 10 mb uncapped seems to be working perfectly now.
Might have been a telkom issue who knows.

Too much emphasize is placed on speedtest.net results.
Using a download manager and monitoring the real world performance figures they represent is a far more accurate and consistent indicator.
Orbit works well and is free. I use IDM which is a bought app and works very well.
If you using Firefox also try flashget.

How many of you are still getting very poor speeds please post
because I have been getting very poor speeds everyday and I know it is not my adsl line
because I use Fnb backup account and I have been getting full speed local and International.

As I've posted above I'm getting poor performance on video streaming sites, with the exception of YouTube which is working well.
