Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

After the network switch, things seem to have gone backwards, at least for some people. I also get much more disconnects than before. NOT ADSL line disconnects. the line stays connected, the connection to the ISP is lost.
I noticed in Battlefield 3 I started getting CRAZY lag as if it has slow transfers speeds.

I reset my router today and set everything up again, and decided to do a test.

This is what we had before

Avg was between 500-700kB/s

I've had the following results before and it just isn't acceptable.
After 10 tries to have the speedtest.net website load correctly without the red error box (Configuration Load Failed), this was the result.
Note: Many websites simply times out and I have to refresh the page about 5+ times before it loads correctly

Seriously Afrihost. This is just BS.
My friend's 1Mbps MWEB line is faster than my 4Mbps AND has lower latency.
In BF3 I used to get about 9-11ms ping, and now I get 30-35ms to the same server. wtf:mad:
Sorry Afrihost, but there's no way I'm staying.

EDIT: I'm getting between 40-229ms ping to a server I used to get 9-11ms to WTF!
All the local BF3 servers are getting getting between 40-250ms since Wednesday.
On Wednesday, I thought it was a once off thing so I didn't think much of it

There is your answer guys. We are being shaped to death...

Ofcourse the weekend is the perfect time to fiddle around with your shaping policy's when most users are active.

[facepalm]... My friend's 1mbps MWEB costs less AND he's getting better speeds than me, as well as lower latency?!?
What a fail

Prior to the last 2 days, I have barely seen any hiccups with the new MTN network. Yes, this is highly annoying, yes, I think everyone should be refunded a pro-rata fee for every day this happens ... but do I think Afrihost is a crap company? No ... they are trying their best. I remember when everyone was complaining about them going with IS, etc, etc. It's teething issues ... yes it sucks, but it happens to everyone, even the big boys. Guys like ABSA, Vodacom, FNB, Standard Bank, Blackberry have all gone down ... it happens, at least they are trying, and they do help beat up the market.

My only irk is that their website says "Network Fully Operational" which is clearly nonsense ... I'd like to see them update their website that they are having issues and keeping us more in the loop. I phoned tech support who said it would be fixed by 2am, well that's a best estimate I guess ... but let's see.

In the mean time, I've purchased a WA account to use for now.

Submitted a ticket let's see if we get a reply...

Hi guys this MTN network where u forced all the users onto is really bad. How are few supposed to enjoy the internet for which we are paying premium rates for, when u don't even get half the speed you are paying for?

Regards
Really annoyed customer.

What's your battlefield 3 user name?

Is anyone everyone else feeling pretty fcking QoS right now? ;)

Haha - that's good :)

Took advantage of a free month on Openweb to get past the configuration of QoS policy on Afrihost. Mine died around 16:00, so switched across. Will try again over the weekend.

So latency is better now... but speeds are less than half that I normally get. WTF.:mad:

Diablo latency 220ms tonight. What an improvement!

Dude do what you want. I'm so sick of the crap with Afrihost every day
Dude, are you for real? :wtf: Got nothing better to do?

Another day same bull****

My debit order came off at full speed last night. Absolute bull**** that we must pay full price while Afrihost go through their little teething period. That's why the network was tested before the launch. I remember Afriman bragging that the network was only at 70% capacity. Wtf went wrong from then till now?

MY INTERNET HAS BEEN UNUSABLE FOR 3 DAYS NOW!
