Im really getting tired now Afrihost. Its 9 Days into the new month now, ive had 2 days of acceptable internet. Im now getting 58kbp/s speeds on a 2Mbit uncapped account. Thanks.

This is the latest info I have on what has been happening:-

It seems like we've been able to get the network performing optimally and the shaping rules are limiting torrents but still allowing full throughput on realtime services. The problem has been that this lasts a while, and then torrents and nntps suddenly get full throughput and congest the network giving us latency spikes all over the place, which has been pretty unpredictable. We suspect there may be a faulty or misconfigured controller on the network which is only applyign the shaping rules intermittently, specifically on Uncapped accounts. We're consulting with the designers from America and Israel and I last heard that the suspected faulty components will be replaced and configured over the course of the next hour.

We believe that since we have been able to stabilise the network using our shaping rules, if the intermittent issues can be resolved and the priority settings are constant, this will resolve the throughput and latency issues.

Awesome!

Now please find a way to keep lightning away from my router! :D

sorry yeah that was the IS test...

10mb uncapped, Durban:

Speedtest to JHB (MTN) seems to be shaped or throttled to 4mbit, and pretty much everything else is behaving the same (Astraweb NNTP download & YouTube).

Pings are good though (25ms local)

For the last 2 days I have been getting 40% packet loss in DOta2 like 4 times in a game! The entire game freezes and I die lol

Its been acting very funny! Hope its been fixed!

So according to afrihost's new shaping rules etc what speeds can I expect from torrents, ftp transfers now afriman? Using an uncapped option only to be able to pull about 10G/b a month and paying 389 a month I might need go back to an capped option. I am on an 4mb uncapped option.

Hi All

I'm new to commenting on mybb. I've been noticing people saying speedtest.net is not reliable. Why not use the KISS rule and we all use the mybroadband speedtest so we comparing apples with apples.

use it don't use it ;)

The problem is MyBB requires you to screencap your results, whereas Speedtest automatically gives you a hotlinkable image.
