Can anyone please enlighten me as to how one knows whether shi**y speed is due to Telkom or the ISP?
Thanks Sydney @ Afrihost
Test conducted on 10 November 2012 16:00
Download Speed: 3765 kbps (470.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 476 kbps (59.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 234 ms
now just the latency
Excuse the ignorance here. Just do a speed test to another provider or actually connect to another provider?![]()
use another providers account to connect and test.. so basically get a trial from say Mweb and see how that sppedtest runs against your current Afrihost account.. if there is major differences then its ISP, else line
Side note: I've just noticed that speedtest.net now recognizes my IP range as belonging to 'MTN Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd', as opposed to 'unknown ISP' or whatever it used to say - Not sure when that happened, but thats another step in the right direction![]()
Traceroute to local .co.za IP? Can you do it and post output?
