Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I'm with Axxess (Afrihost) as well. Have been having intermittent speed problems, but generally not that bad. Far from ideal though.

I am sure they didn't expect this much troubles with the change over, but still, that guarantee seems like a very bad idea indeed. I expect a bunch of double money back guarantees can add up to quite a few people's salaries....

Brand damage like this is HARD to fix.

Also, no feedback to customers is just simply NOT ok. Dedicate someone to keep the community abreast of what's happening. No promises, just what you are doing, what's the next steps, and a timeline of when things are going to be changed, etc. Few things are worse than being kept in the dark while a service you pay for is not working.

I'd like to sincerely apologise for all the trouble.
We really do appreciate everyone's patience and we're working tirelessly to get all the problems resolved.

No excuses, Afriman has been off sick and we have all been invested in getting all the problems resolved and have not done enough to keep everyone updated.

I apologise to the community for this and will make sure we have more of a presence.

Update regarding disconnects:

I'm not 100% sure of the changes that were made this morning to resolve the problem but we're monitoring to make sure the fix was successful.

A fix has been applied and we're monitoring to make sure it's been successful.

We have been able to recreate the problem and are monitoring it closely.

Hi KALSTER.

The truth is we were 100% confident that everything would go smooth.
We'd been running tests for some time and had dozens of rehearsals before we moved our big ADSL realms.

Since the move we've literally had little to no sleep at all as we work through all the known and newly reported problems.

Even though there are problems i'm still glad i moved to afrihost from telkom, because at least they are dedicated and try hard to fix their problems, unlike *cough* telkom *cough* who just don't care.

Unfortunately for me there is no IPC in Durban (IS), so the best ping I get on mybb international speedtest is around 206ish but it has been creeping up since the weekend - must be all the extra peeps dropping Afrihost. This morning its at 224! But at least the speed is there and its stable (I'm not a gamer (yet)):

VPN connection is so slow. I still have to switch to FNB Connect.
Seems Affrihost cannot fix the problem, they tried all morning yesterday !!!!

Where are the so called "top engineers" of Afrihost?

Getting line speed on ssl nntp now.
Earlier, d3 was trouble free.
 
Based on testing I did, it does look like only speedtest is getting full throughput. Everything else is shaped. It is exactly like you said. Probably a move to try and keep noobs (like myself) thinking there is nothing wrong.
