Throttling is one of the reasons I initially joined,I knew my usage was low enough to ensure throughput when I needed it. Now whether I download 1gig or 400 my downloads will keep trudging along at 1/4 line speed?
Not exactly what I signed up for hey

Did you miss this post, and the few thereafter? You seek nothing but to disrupt this discussion; it is, frankly, highly disrespectful. Now, judging by your choice of nickname and... *ahem*... location, I understand respect might be a foreign concept to you. But please try, won't you?

Kindly PLuGG off.

Looks like after hours downloads are definitely up to scratch again, during business hours I get about 20% to 25%

My NZB downloads are limited (shaped) to about 250kBps at the moment. YouTube, speedtest.net etc are almost at full speed

Why would your subscribers combined, suddenly move 23% more data than last month, even with the reduced bandwidth most of us have been getting?

EDIT: You also mentioned in the beginning, that with almost all your clients moved over, you were running at about 60% capacity, have Afrihost now ran out of capacity? Surely you couldn't have had that many new subscribers this month?

We made the 60% comment on or about the 16th, and we had basically left uncapped users unshaped until we implemented QoS in early November. In that time, guys went completely nuts. We had more that one uncapped user mover over 1 TB of data.

No I means people got gatvol complaining for about 20 days now and still problems is persisting.
The other half allready moved other service providers.
U guys supposedly working day and night to fix the problem, take a 5min break and look at your cancellation department, they working harder than the support team at the moment.

They like spinning made up figures to pretend like all is ok and better than before. Would like to see how many fools gonna stay with them for another month of abuse.

Actually we haven't had that many cancellations, but I'm pretty grateful for one of them right now :)

Oh dear, speeds seem to be degrading slowly..

My NZBs are still shaped to 250kBps, but now YouTube and various speedtests cant pull faster than about 500kBps - 600kBps

As I am typing this I am unable to properly open websites and failing to download even a 400kb file. When I download, my nzb's and torrents are shaped to 1mb even though I am paying for a 4mb account.

We are sitting here with a situation which resembles a supplier promising a service and a consumer paying for that service while the supplier is not delivering said service.

I have now come to the conclusion that Afrihost/Axxess are violating the requirements for a service by a supplier as set out in the Consumer Protection Act, even if they try to cover their shaping under fair use policy.

We are paying for something we are not receiving.

This is cause for an action before the Consumer tribunal and then later court if it continues to that point.

I am employed at a law firm and will most likely have the resources to start this action, I am currently doing my research on exactly what it is that we need to request from the tribunal to rectify this ridiculous situation.

Afrihost/Axxess are essentially taking, without repercussion, consumer's money at the moment and getting away with it because not everyone has left the sinking ship. This is not right.

I will post again once I have finished researching.

TSW updated without and issue and good speeds. Yet to play and see how it fairs with AH.

Please exclude me from your actions. I am happy with the service I receive.
Also, fairly sure this post is defamatory...

while I understand the feeling ... I think in this situation the best thing would be to vote with your wallet(as I and many others have already done) as there are other service providers that can provide the service required. viva competition :)

Can anybody give me advice on the best 2meg uncapped ADSL package. Can't decide between Afrihost, WebAfrica or OpenWeb Gold. Any advise would be great.

I think he has to say stuff thats untrue for it to be considered defamation. I have been getting shaped to 1/5th of my line speed until 11.30pm on weekend days. Currently im being shaped to 1/10th of my line speed, its long past after hours.

I'm sorry to hear this, and the situation is not consistent with how we are shaping the network. There is most certainly something else happening, so please PM me so we can try and rectify this.
