Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Just got home to *** internet speeds again, Switched to FNB stanby and requested a trial plugg account. Will see how it goes.

I don't see how logging a support ticket will help since many guys on this forum seem to be having the same problems, so obviously not isolated.

Edit: Usage for the month = 48gb

Many guys on the forum? Big understatement, bru. Check on the rest of the net. I checked on a few forums that hellopeter also decided jump ship

Quick question, is it standard fare for Afriman to be snarky and sarcastic?

Just think it's a bit odd behaviour coming from a PR guy.

At least it proves he's human. With the amount of flack he takes in this thread, who wouldn't? The alternative would be the guys throwing frothies fueling each other.

Afriman makes up for the crappy speeds :D
Getitng full line speed while streaming so at least that can pass the time.

Yay, my speeds are back up to 1000KB/s. But on an OpenWeb trial account!! haha. So much better then Afrihost.

And Afriman still hasnt replied. I want to hear from him that Hello Peter jumped ship!!!!!!!!

Be truthful to your clients (soon to be ex) for once please!

Since you appear to be unable to answer the important questions, could you at least tell us why?

Why???

I've said this a few times. Please ask a direct question, or drop me a PM, I can't respond to 2 or 3 pages of posts, or a general post directed at the thread/forum/universe. It would just make things pretty difficult to follow and it's just not humanly possible unless there were more of me, like I know some other ISP reps work.

Lots of guys are posting their general feedback, positive or negative - that's what the forum is for. But if you want a direct answer to a straightforward question - direct it at me and ask, or send me a PM.

:)

Zewp's Q:

"Now here's where clarity needs to be given imo, is Afrihost Uncapped basically JustSurf with very minimal downloading being allowed, or are the current download woes just temporary and will go away once the network gets sorted out?"

My Question:

Has Hello Peter jumped ship Afriman?

I saw something similar on our facebook page earlier, was that also your question?? I think we did post an answer:-

"We understand that some clients do prefer uncapped to access more data, and we'll give as much capacity as we can to this. But the majority of clients need to ensure they have stable browsing, streaming and gaming services and that will remain our top priority. We have a dedicated team working on this, we do expect performance on downloads to continue to improve."

I think that's pretty much says it :)

Hehe, I guess. I was in something of a PR position for a few months earlier this year and I'm aware how brutal it can be at times. I'm just always curious to hear how PR/tech support guys vent. :p

It's always a pleasure dealing with clients who need help or information, and it's actually a great feeling when you can do that. I just think it's about engagement and communication, that why I love my job.

I won't lie, some comments cut me pretty deep. Dissing our team who put a lot of effort into their work, and I know truly have their heart in making things better for our clients (and by extension for us as a company). As I write this, I know all our managers are online, and will personally jump on any issue if I IM them. People who disrespect Gian especially, which I just can't understand because if you ever met him you'll swear you never met a more open and generous man. When you come across people just needlessly taking personal pot shots at the people you respect, I think we can all understand a little sarcasm :)

Who the hell give a sht about hellopeter?

It's 11PM and I still can't stream a YouTube video!!

Hellopeter is going to be the least of their worries if this level of service keeps up

Maybe you should ask them, not sure it's pertinent to discuss another client's information, don't you think?

I'm sure its "not pertinent". Its extremely pertinent especially since you advertise them on your site as someone that trusts Afrihost, and then they jump ship. Its not about the client, its more about why they are doing it. If they cant trust you anymore, can I as a customer trust you?
