You can log a helpdesk ticket requesting if your account has been throttled From my understanding certain users are set as abusers and throttled. The criteria for this is uncertain and support give generic reasons when I asked them. I have done 40Gb this month, only 6gb past 10 days and I get the same speed of 7KBp as you. Others users get full speed so it seems it is not universal. Browsing and youtube is fine though.

Afrihost - how about moving back to your pre-MTN account. Couldn't possibly be worse than what you're selling us now. "You're now on the MTN network" is more of a warning than a feature!

I really recommend openweb! Far superior to Afrihost....get almost full speeds during the day and full speed after hours. None of this quarter speed bs.

25th if you believe Afrihost's website.

got to say ... tonight has not been that bad ... close to full line speed on downloads,nntp,browsing ... wonder if they actually fixed the problem or its just a temporary reprieve for the weekend!!!
 
Uhm my afrihost is performing horribly. It took 12minutes to download a 300kb windows update and I cant play dota 1 (not even 2) ever since it switched to MTN.

Something is horribly wrong and I cant even log into the clientzone I have no idea whats happening >.<

This most probably explains the poor latency in D3 tonight.
 
Been running like a dream since last night! Lets hope it stays like this.

The clientzone seems to be broken though - I can't logon. Anyone else having issues?

I wanna get the 1mbps bundled package, should I get it? Since I wanna do http downloads (filehosting sites) and torrents.
 
My Torrents currently going at 50KB/s on 1meg line... I can live with that. Had a peak of 90KB/s earlier this morning
 
AND on top of that, i managed to download a 750MB game on my Galaxy last night over wifi with only 1 disconnect.
 
Line is running super fast but one issue:
When I try download tv firmware from www.lg.com I get 1kb/sec.

Connect my work VPN and use their proxy, flat out line speed on the same URL.
 
Since about 19h30 last night I have been getting full speeds!
Is this the aftermath of Black Friday?!
 
Getting about 4kbps on a 1meg line.

Edit: what do you know, restarting the router three times actually fixed it!
