and back on my uncapped account

Test conducted on 30 January 2013 22:17
Download Speed: 1156 kbps (144.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 459 kbps (57.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 216 ms

been getting consistent 50kb on torrent downloads and full speed off peak. my internetz has been good overall since it was activated on the 16th of January. I was on checking the client Zone and saw this:
Maximum Sync Rate
512kbps
Maximum speed at which the DSLAM and your modem will communicate.

Current Downstream Sync
512kbps
The current download speed established between the DSLAM and your modem.

I am in a 2mb uncapped account and was wondering if these figures are normal?

We are going WAAAy off topic but you need to see an optician, when you have put on your new specs look approxmately 4 lines down from the top it says AFRIHOST UNCAPPED ADSL FEEDBACK therefore askin wether ISP1 or ISP 2 is better has absolutely NOTHING to do with this forum. There is another forum labled ISP DISCUSSION oe something like that, this ain't it! That political suggestion was me being sarcastic which went above your head!
Another thing I take strong exception to "Are you on drugs" comment, that is the equavalent of swearing at me because I have been in a postion to try it but always refused even with peer pressure! Only losers and weak people use drugs...........

RAS.

You should also get new specs and maybe read thru the entire post before posting rubbish like this.

Could this not be your upstream rate? 512kbps is standard from 2Mbps up to 4mbps, to my knowledge. Drop me a PM with your line number and I'll double check those figures :)

Cancel and move on. They have had enough time to sort this nonsense out but clearly nothing is getting better, its getting worse.

I potentially lost a business deal last night due to my lousy performance, bloody embarrassing. I can't wait to get the hell off this sub grade crap.

I was downloading a file @ 4.9 Kb/s and it rendered everything else unusable. Couldn't even get google.co.za to load.

I have reverted to capped. Uncapped isn't usable for me at the moment. I think the last Qos updates broke something. Afriman?

We had some issues this morning with authentication. For some reason there was a backlog of requests, which caused the server to be a lot slower than usual to process them. Should have all gone away at about 9:30am. From what I can see, no other issues on the network, but with the 1st of the month we usually see a big spike in ADSL demand, due to business sending out invoices, updates - not to mention the new iOS6 hitting a day or so ago.

Things should be more or less normal though, but let me know if anything's not working :)
