F#ck this is becoming sooo annoying now. I keep losing my adsl connection.. this happens like 3 to 4 times a day, every day now.
I have to reset my router every time this happens.
Last week I spoke to one of the guys at AH who did something and it was fine for a few days. Now it's starting again.

My line has been doing that for 2 or weeks now Replaced the modem but still happening every now and then. Tried different ADSL accounts and happens on them too so figured it must have something to do with the line.
I'm moving house next month so thought I wouldn't even bother calling Telkom - will see what it's like at my new house first...

I guess I'll be using capped for realtime from now on, since uncapped (above) has been like this now for the last couple of weeks. Erratic and getting slower.

Unfortunately there are not that many companies where you can reach so high.
I just wish most of his new staff could share the same passion.

As for my problem..so far... no one has even bothered to contact or at least email me :mad: (aside from AfriMan that is).

For some reason I can't view these links. Drop me a PM when you can, so we can see what the issue is. You shouldn't need to switch to capped for real time :(

I have recently downgraded from a 4mb uncapped to 1mb uncapped. It now seems I am being shaped/throttled over weekends, and weekday shaping seems to end only very, very late at night. Current torrent speed right now 5kb. Not very happy, I have to say :(
 
Seems like weekends also fall into the business-hours category not just weekdays from 08h00 - 23h00.

NNTP = 56KB/s
 
Weird, my line test shows the opposite, sync at router is 4096, but it says max sync from dslam or whatever is only 512.

Is that normal?

It may be due to still registering your usage patterns etc. from 4Mbps against the shaping profiling for 1Mbps, unfortunately happens sometimes with Uncapped downgrades. Drop me a PM if this is the case, and I'll check with our network guys how we can fix this :)

You should have seperate upload (ATUR) and download (ATUC) - each one has a current sync rate and a max sync rate (which should ideally be the same. On 4Mbps - ATUC should be 4096 and ATUR should be 512
 
Did a clean windoze install, so once the "installing update 44 of 141" thing finishes, I'll check it again, thanks

It looks like new client zone shows the numbers other way around

Don't know what you guys did but I'm very happy for a change. For the first time my line is properly shaped and not throttled. My torrent is running at 25% of line speed which is fine, and all my other HTTP is not effected.

I've been able to use my account properly for the first time ever. Really hope this is going to stay like this.

Currently I'm doing a torrent, a steam install of CSS, package downloads and surfing and no issues.

The report may be mislabelled, but if you send me a DM, I can send you the stats from Telkom's portal. But it looks to me as though top is your download stats and bottom is upload. I'll double check though :)

If that's the case, your line looks fine :)

Sounds like you'r getting the kind of experience we want you to expect, and then we can still surprise you occasionally with full line speed on torrents as well. When our new capacity goes online, we're expecting it will be a totally different experience :)
 
Which capacities aren't implemented yet? I thought it was just Cape town's national link that wasn't up yet?
