TESTMATE pm the message to Afriman, he works better with the pm box than forum messages.

So, AfriMan,
WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO TO RECEIVE A HUMAN REPLY to:

Ticket ID: AFB-721-51846
Subject: ADSL line choppy performance..again
Department: Afrihost - ADSL Support

It would seem that "the special ops" team choose to ignore the request.
I'm getting REALLY GATVOL with this nonsense.

I have received NO phone calls or emails from ANY support member,
BUT
I have have received an SMS stating:
"You currently interacted with Murendeni from Afrihost. Please rate our service...."
needless to say I didn't bother with "0-9"

I need this line fixed properly!
TM

I've sent this through to the Spec Ops manager, and will personally go and chat to him to make sure that this get's looked into. Truly sorry about this, we do value our loyal clients and you should not have to jump through hoops to get what you need.

:(

Hopefully it gets resolved soon...I'm one click away from moving to OpenWeb.(sad but true)
Speaking of IS backbone...I think (not sure) most of my problems can be resolved by moving the line back to the IS is this possible?

Please let me know.

The slow speeds being experienced the past 2 weeks have been extremely annoying. I know Afriman has said that once the IPC is up in Cape Town that things will get better. However, why is it that the problem has been far worse the past 2 weeks and not the whole period since moving over to MTN?

I'm starting to get very impatient at 20Kb/s.

Hmm... first time I'm online today and except for latency, it looks quite good for almost 20h00 in the evening. Keep these speeds up AH.

Test Date: Feb 11, 2013 7:36:16 PM
Server: Randburg
Download: 3.42 Mbps
Upload: 0.64 Mbps
Ping: 78 ms

Edit. Youtube plays at most 2 seconds before it buffers... :-\

Which ISP manages your ADSL line has no bearing on the performance of the line at all. The physical infrastructure is not altered in any way

Whats happening with P2P, it worked fine till a week ago, now things are horribly slow. It took 8 hours to download 500mb on 4mb line. The shaping rules are seriously screwed.

Hey Afriman

Can you please check your inbox if you get a chance. I sent you a PM :)

ok everything was running fine until about 1215 and then someone decided to apply the brakes to international
Test conducted on 12 February 2013 12:43
Download Speed: 342 kbps (42.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 337 kbps (42.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 435 ms

What really irritates me is that I'm paying for 2mbps ADSL uncapped. I am not getting this.

I get 1mbps IF I'M LUCKY. I understand all the mumbo jumbo bs about real time throttling, but that's just hiding behind fancy marketing terms. YOU ARE NOT PROVIDING ME WITH 2mbps ADSL UNCAPPED. I don't even get 50% of what you say I'll get.

Up, down, international there, not there, can't stream 360 youtube (even though I get assured it gets priority), absolute nonsense.

When I joined, I got such good service and speed (on IS). Since the MTN move it's been unreliable bull! I upgraded my line to 2mbps because I wanted better streaming and a touch more speed. I have not got that. I'm not a legal expert, but isn't there something in the CPA that prevents this kind of nonsense? Maybe Afrihost should include something in the ADSL offering adverts to advertise the AVERAGE speed experience by people on the various packages?

WHEN ARE THINGS GOING TO IMPROVE? Your feedback channel is 485 PAGES LONG!? There is something fundamentally wrong at Afrihost with all this.

And why the hell should I have to PM 1 person on the forums to get things to improve? Is there fiddling that's done on account levels to make things work better?! If so, why not apply it to all accounts? (over simplification I know, but hell... come on!)

I realize that I'm ranting now, but that is what my experience with Afrihost is making me feel like doing.

I'm truly sad to read your post. While we do our best to resolve or mitigate technical hitches, we never want to lose the trust of our clients and the personal relationship we build with you. Our IPC will be live at the latest the 25th of Feb. We are doing our utmost to provide the best possible experience until this goes live.

I understand your feelings about not wanting a "special fix" but that solutions should be applied throughout. I assure you we are not doing that kind of thing. Our guys are just making sure that every possible angle is investigated which might affect or improve your experience. For me, my sole purpose on this forum is to be a resource for information, and a conduit for service. So I hope that you will take the opportunity to chat to me about how we can help. But I 100% agree that it should not be special service, all our clients should get equally excellent service.

Hi Guys,

I joined Afrihost today when I got my line. Now I took a bundle package, how long will it take for the line to be converted to DSL?

I still have time until the end of February to use the Afrihost account for free. Thereafter I have to pay normal fees. If I want to cancel I have to do it before the 25th for February if I'm correct. So far I'm definately not going to stay with Afrihost because of very slow download speeds. Torrent downloads are pathetic. 2GB in 24hours, and still busy with the 2 files.

If the IPC is only going to be live on the 25th that doesn't give me any chance to see if there are a improvement or not.

WHAT TO DO???
