AfriHost uncapped ADSL here soon

yeah... Gian !! I'm staying with Afrihost, even if they are more expensive, I will rather support them. They started this price war after all.

My Afrihost has been awesome (way better than my Telkom). Yay! I get to stay with Afrihost if I switch to uncapped!

Someone's gonna get hurt

Afrihosts need a big user base because they buy in bulk. If all their users go to M-Web they sit with all the unused bandwidth they cannot sell and they go belly up.

This war is great to see but I don't know if it is good in the long run as maybe you won't get the smaller players taking such big risks in future.

Anyway I got stuff to download. :)

AfriHost! Jou Dooring! :D

They started it all and they ain't backing down just yet :)

Great to see how quickly other ISP's are reacting. W.A im sorry but you guys need to get something out there ASAP.
i HIGHLY doubt Telkom will bring an uncapped service later this year but i think we will get larger caps along with those speed upgrades.

Also I promise not to download more than 100Gb on my 384k line :erm:

Also in future I will try not to start a sentence with also.

You gotto be going hammer and nail 24/7 to even get close to that :)

I'm sticking with Mweb, considering they're the ones who had the decency to start this uncapped price war, and the other ISP's aren't undercutting them significantly. Mweb will probably be better-equipped to deal with an influx of customers, too. I'm also interested to see what other announcements they have up their sleeve.

But the plan's been to keep our 2gig AfriHost spare account all along in order to support the "little guys" who tried to do good, and we still will :D

Afrihost will not have that uncapped userbase to sustain this type of model, sorry guys, seems that its Mweb ftw.

Incredibly, it seems that in a few weeks the majority of ISP's will just turn into MWEB resellers. Hats off to Mweb then, seems that when the big cats start stepping in the ring things can change drastically fast.

They plowed so much cash into becoming a Teir 1 ISP that they have costs to pay off.
What about Axxess? I think they will stick to express packages and intro new uncapped services

I think we should thank guys like Afrihost for stepping up levels of support, they have contributed not only in the advancement of cheaper bandwidth, but also client support. Its a pity that they physically dont have the capacity to compete with the big guys, but their efforts and contributions should not go unthanked and unnoticed.

So heres one for Afrihost, hope you guys do well in the future, you were a great ISP and it was fun.

Hmm.. I think maybe it's not the ISP's, but IS that actually caught a wake up and offering better models for the likes of Afrihost ? I may be very wrong though. SAIX uncapped, where are they ?
