Afrihost Uncapped Latency problems on the new network (MTN)

Before the network change from today i had the best latency any ISP could have give me which was always 170ms-250ms to EU and 10-50ms locally on my 4MB line with the Uncapped account, from today with the new MTN network we are on i am now getting 300ms-500ms to EU which is terrible, and i am getting local latency 100-200ms.. i was expecting better latency and performance from the new switch over but it's now worse than what it was.

Anyone else who can confirm this?

I have added my speedtest results as well with a MWEB account.. so nothing to-do with my line.
 
Seems those not in JHB is getting this problems, i am in Cape Town and it's bad, Afrihost did not care about the Cape Tonians.

Download speeds look good. Ping is something they can sort out and I'm sure they will.
 
Got a respond from Afrihost:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Afrihost together with MTN are looking into a "possible" problem with our uncapped accounts, we have had many reports similar to this.
We will have some feedback in about an hour or two.

Please test it then and let us know if the problem persists.

I'm in JHB on an uncapped 2mg account. Speedtests are quite dismal and downloading various files last night and max download speeds were between 15-40kbps. Very slow :( I'm in the Northwold/Sundowner area FWIW.
 
:( on my 5GB prepaid adsl account I use to get 11ms ping on pingtest.net now I get between 30ms and 40ms :( :cry:
 
Once again Afrihost supprise me with customer service, the reason why i left MWEB was with the terrible customer service and the wait before they help you, Afrihost are helping me as we speak, and you won't get the same customer service with MWEB at all.

So whoever Keenan are from Afrihost!! Keep doing what you are doing!
 
I had crazy lag on my Fifa games last night, which is mostly played against Europeans. Compared to Monday night when everything was smooth sailing. I hope they get the CT IPC up ASAP.
 
I phoned afrihost. Now i must go do all these tests pings, tracerts,etc. But i know its not my line. I did a speedtest with them and FNB Connect and FNB Connect was 100x better. will give them until the 30th and if it has not improved I will be cancelling.
 
For this same reason I prefer to stay on IS and don't want to be moved to MTN. I never had problems with IS and are very happy with my connection since it's been on IS. Other than that good work Afrihost and am very happy with your service.
 
I'm in CT. Same experience unfortunately on my Afrihost account. My International latency degraded by +- 70-80 with the shift to MTN. Something similar happened a while back with my original ISP. They spoke about a better service, better backbone etc. My gaming latency also dropped by + 70-80. This was a few years ago and the situation with that ISP remains the same, no change. Hope this wont be the case with Afrihost.
