Hey Guys

I'm in PE...had bad results on and off and could never break 2.6Mbps on the Speedtest.net site. Ping tests also always came out to B or C

I just went and switched off my router and waited about 5 mins. Switched back on and the Speed improved A LOT !!! Maybe give it a try....

PS. I also notice that I keep getting a new IP, whereas in the past I kept my dynamic IP when I was still with Axxess..

and international not bad either . . . . ( Greece )

Not sure how long this will last .

Cheers !:D

Tried a few hot reboots - no real difference.

But when i completely yanked the power and left it for a couple of minutes, I switched on again, and speed improvement was very noticeable...

I noticed this on my old Axxess Express uncapped account as well. Sometimes a complete power down helps matters improve a lot....

Cheers

Don't waste your money on an unreliable, unsustainable service. WebAfrica has a very nice 11 gig account for around about the same price. Ask youself this: What would you do without that familiar and comforting anxiety of getting capped several days into a new month? Admit it, you'd be lost.

And that wonderful feeling of freedom after topping up at R65 per gig? Sheer bliss. You know its the right thing to do.

And you would be blazing the trail for all the disaffected uncapped users (who are all now suffering from capsickness, similar to homesickness) who will surely be flocking back to WA sometime soon.

I'm getting 10kB/s on torrents. It's the first time this week things are this bad for me.

Still getting slow speeds and http is only sitting at 100kB/s. These are simple downloads, not news servers, and this was always 400kB/s. I guess I'm signing up with MWeb then to see if I'm any better off...

I've rebooted, changed routers, ran off another PC, swore, cried, slept, cried some more and kicked the dog. Nothing helps, still staying at 10kB/s. It had a glimmer of hope around 50kB/s for a few minutes just now, but this was short lived. Also, this was 400kB/s 24Hrs ago. Waiting for the Afrihost guy to phone back

No problems here. Started a nntp job last night - got my full 400Kb/s the whole night and still going strong. (nntp via US EN)

Where you downloading from?

I've noticed the torrents do seem to be pretty heavily shaped atm...
I seem to be averaging in the high 50kb/s on them.. regardless of what I do...

international...astraweb. full speeds during office hours...**** speeds during unshaped hours. And I stay in Pretoria.

Look at this ****:

Look at my speedtest to a server in Los Angeles.

As soon as Telkom makes their uncapped packages public, I'm going back. This is bull****.
