Afrihost Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

good day...

i also have been having problems with afrihost lately.. they gave me a "specialops@afrihost" account now to use while they fix the uncapped accounts...

i get pinged out of Diablo 3, but this is my speedtest results...

so im really confused as to why this is happening...

and im on the 10meg uncapped account... this is speedtest from this site below

Test conducted on 12 November 2012 12:38:06 PM

Download Speed: 6511 kbps (813.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 523 kbps (65.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 27 ms

im so confused on what to do.. i got internet for the connection and speed, not the price... now i have half speed 400 KB/sec when i used to get 800 KB/sec... and no stable ping/connection

I've just spoken to Afrihost support...nothing really said I didn't already now. I know that some traffic types take priority over others, however, the capped accounts are unshaped and they get AWESOME connection speeds IRRESPECTIVE of what they are doing. Is this where AH is making their real $$?

I did tell the dude that I know certain protocols get higher priority during the day and that makes business sense but do apply such aggressive Access-lists and QoS after hours, are you for real? He says "I will contact AfriMan and perhaps he can escalate to Management."

Just joined AH again after about a year...guess I'm leaving again after one day. They guarantee the connection speeds for HTTP traffic only.

AfriMan - Your thoughts, comments...whatever blah, blah, blah...

Getting throttled down to 384 is ridiculous if its for a reason like using 10Gb a month, it doesn't even make sense.

I have a 8ta 10Gb sim and basically used up 9,45Gb so far and its only the 8th, bearing in mind the 9gb was already gone by the 3rd of January.

All I did was download steam games after the christmas sales.

What is the actual criteria limit on usage per day/week/month? The way I interpreted the policy was that throttling would be dynamic based on hourly demand.
So if for instance I had my ADSL up and running to dl those steam games I'd be boned by now?
Please correct and clarify, Afriman and users with experience?

(To think, I still need to DL The Witcher 2... 17Gb, The Witcher 1, 7 Gb or somesuch, Sacred 2 Gold, 12Gb.......)

what is the difference between the:
Afrihost Uncapped Subscribers Feedback and Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback threads?

I subscribed to Afrihost today :bananadance: and believe there is great potential in their system once fully implemented.

Come to think of it, on interpreting the thread title, it might even pass for a thread on feedback and comments on mugshots of non-cap wearing subscribers... :rolleyes:

in my opinion afrihost are an awful isp.
i cant wait for the minute when my one month notice is over
even mweb are vastly superior and they dont have the best rep for looking after their customers.
afrihost stink-please try other alternatives
